Blackberry messenger question

Do I need to have an internet plan to be able to use the blackberry messenger? What if I am only using a pre-paid plan? Does that mean that the blackberry messenger will be useless without internet? Thanks for helping mylotters!

Yes. You need data plan with blackberry, or blackberry plan, to use blackberry messenger.

Thanks for the information. So I guess that would mean that its a bit expensive to own a blackberry since I will have to pay additional overhead to use the blackberry messenger.
