I teach part time at a local University here in my area. It's summer vacation time and most part timers are not teaching. But I was told that the subject I was handling would be offered this summer. I did teach it for two days now only to find out a few minutes ago that it will be dissolved. Now, I'm virtually jobless and have no sources of funds this summer. Worst, tomorrow is my birthday. Whew. What a way to start. Any idea on how I'm going to find source of funds for such a short notice? I won't be able to teach in other schools for by now the slots would be filled since classes has started already.

well for starters happy birthday. That is one thing I have noticed about life, It never stops even on your birthday. Have you looked into teaching online? I have seen a few places looking for teachers?

Hi there, thank you for the greetings. Yes I did look for other jobs as teaching but it's in the middle of summer here and most of the summer classes have started, there's no more vacancies for my profession. Similarly, I have tried looking for an online thing, but the noise in my place wouldn't allow me to teach online. But I'm trying on to writing. Perhaps that's a good way to spend 2 months unemployed.

Thanks charlady. Yeah perhaps it is a sign for me to do something, but still it worries me a lot that this would become a permanent thing.

I know someone and her name is lady too, she's a part-time teacher in that helluva place where I used to work, LoL, I'm just wondering if you're the same person I'm talking about... What subject do you teach? And, ummm, to answer your query... hmmmm... Try doing online jobs, try googling this keyword: odesk

Can't the course I'm teaching is college courses, it's not something you look for a tutor about, well not for the majority. Online tutorials don't work either because I have a very noisy environment that I can't do anything about.

Well I know making money online may work for you. I am not sure of all your skills but you could also sell items you have they you do not want or need. For me that is what my family did when my boyfriend gave up his job. Now we are working a little better because I am in college now but I am looking for a part time job to supplement my income so I can pay off some debt and also take care of my new used car I brought.

Oh selling isn't my thing but have thought of venturing to something like that for a change. Perhaps if I could think of a good thing to be selling. But the idea is leading there. Thanks for the suggestion.
