Why do some people cheat on taxes?

April 15 is Tax Day in America. It just occurred to me that here in the Philippines, not everyone pays taxes. If you're an employee, you have no choice but to pay taxes since it is automatically deducted from your salary. But if you're an employer, it is so easy to evade tax. Do you find it unfair?

Yes, corruption is one of the main problems everywhere (well, except in more disciplined countries).

In the eyes of me ,it's reasonable ,the employers also have to pay tax ,but by other ways .All the workman have the duty to pay tax. The richer pay more.It all depends by your salary.I think it fair .Maybe not everyone pays tax automatically ,so the government take some methods forcibly to confirm the income of tax .Just order the employer to do that .

It's unfair but It's not like we can do anything about it. We are the subordinate of an employer so we can't really demand anything big regarding our salary cuz that'd be unfair too. :)

I don't really think they are evading paying but that they know how to write off anything as a business expense or loss... so how is that unfair? Don't hate the players hate the game. Just out of curiosity are all of your Names on your Birth certificates and bills and records in ALL CAPS?! cause out here in America we just think we have rights but we are corporate entities owned by The British Banking industry. There isn't even an IRS oversight committee?! So what world banks are drawing interests on our monies?! And does your Govt. print there own money cause ours doesn't... The Fed does?? So everyone is getting scammed and you can't get employment or own a business without a social security card or birth certificate... just who is certifying what is the question? We sold out after the great depression brought on by Margin Loans, Poor printing and circulating money w/o enough govt. regulation so people could make good on debts and then the banks took what was real "Property" till nothing was left but our citizens themselves as receipts of property for potential earnings that will never be paid back. And the last thing that bankrupted us as well were the big-players in the stock market all pulling out at the same time.... one big conspiracy!!! So much for the Boston Tea Party cause They came back at us with world banking buying up everything. So yeah the only thing to do now is to fight fire with fire and write everything off,,, hell take out a loan on your house and put it back into it and you can write off all your luxuries and call them necessary even when they are not. So there you have it... What bank does all these taxes end up in? Better yet "The Petro-Dollar" has the US. in business because if they start trading in Euro the whole system will collapse again just like the great depression. LOL seems as though property doesn't mean anything when you have control of the most popular currency so who cares about Taxes?! Let's start caring about what Banks hold all the cash and who prints all the money first before who has to pay what. If an entity is making a profit off the interest w/o providing a service to the people then it matter's not what an employee or owner pays cause whatever is collected is mismanaged with not over-site of balance. It's so funny but why not just pay everyone in gold and leave the governments out of the loop?! Gold coins still are for sale and hold a value. LOL

I think companies needs to cheat on their tax payment in order to survive. Here in the Philippines, tax system here is not that really well implemented, poor compliance and most of all we all know that some public officials are corrupt. Maybe that way, companies found it difficult to comply the tax requirements.

Yes, it is really unfair. There are a lot of employers who decide to play the system at best and outright cheat them at best. And more often then not, they are able to get away with it. Yet, when the normal people try and do anything like that, they get busted down immediately. That is a part of life unfortunately but it is one that is really frustrating.
The fact that it is so easy to evade tax is something that is frustrating. Only the people who are not as bright are the ones that get caught and there are a few people that do get caught. Unfortunately, if you see the few people who get caught, you are just wondering how many people are not getting caught. Unfair but that is one of those things that are accepted during life.
