What does life really mean to you? Is it all about enjoying what life gives and that's it? Is there really meaning beyond life?

before, i thought the essence of life is to simply live it. but there's more to that, i realized. life for me is about making a difference in others' lives. it means touching lives with your own.

so life for you is about doing something beneficial to others using your gifts, and that means also that life is basically doing what must be done then simply die after that. don't you think that's a bit unexciting or lifeless?

i don't totally mean just doing everything for other people and overlooking yourself. that's why i said using yourself as an instrument to help others or to make other people's lives better or beautiful. that doesn't mean depriving yourself all the exciting things in life. but if you can give your life all the exciting experiences, would it be too much to take time to touch others' lives as well. it would be nice to help on or two people in your lifetime.

About finding my purpose, doing what I'm supposed to do, at the same time enjoying it while I can and spend time with my loved ones. It's about learning things unfathomable, discovering places and feelings I've never felt before. Hmmm, well it's basically about living. It's not a perfect life and it's not a perfect world, but I think we could make the most out of it by aiming for perfection.

i could see that life means spending time with people you love, exploring the world, and making the most of what it gives while searching for your purpose. i do agree that these things make life worthwhile. however, is it important to find your purpose in order to fully appreciate the meaning of our lives? or simply doing what makes us happy while making a difference in others' lives would be enough to live life meaningfully?

your ideas are actually interesting. indeed purpose makes life meaningful. but how do you find that purpose? any idea?

I can't explain it exactly, but prayers work for me. It depends on how deep your relationship with God is, and how you communicate to each other. Other people find it by discovering aspects of themselves that they haven't been aware of before. Reading books also help.

I'm going to be honest here. I'm in the stage in my life wherein I'm completely depressed and I've seen the posts under this discussion and well... It kind of placed me back on track. I have nothing to say regarding your topic but I just felt the urge to say Thank you.

Your welcome, jamborieman. All of us need each other if only we have the time to be available. Take courage. Life is an adventure. There are so much to discover, to know and of course to do.

Life has a meaning for me. It really depends on each and every individual on what meaning they wanna give to it and if you don't give it one then your life will always be meaningless like an empty glass of water. It's not even half empty.

The meaning of life constitutes a philosophical question concerning the purpose and significance of our existence and biological life in general. This can be expressed through a variety of questions, such as why are we here? what life is all about? but I tell you, "LIFE for me is a Blessing". I am here for a reason, to enjoy the benefit of being alive and see the beauty of the world that God had made for us and to be with the people who we chose to love and stay around. I am not here by accident, I am here for the right reason and for a certain purpose and that is to Love and be Loved.

We can also extend love to those being abandoned and homeless, there are many ways if we just really try to reach out on them. We can share love to those loveless, we can give hope to those hopeless and we can give meaning to those who sees life as meaningless, as long as you know how to initiate.

so they need us to bring meaning to their lives, while bringing meaning also to ours. make sense. thanks, mack!

so life's purpose is to love and be loved. while i do agree with this for most people, how could we help those who have been abandoned by their parents and were forced to live on the streets simply because no one appeared to love them, and perhaps they too have lost already the capacity to receive love or recognize what love is? love is really a blessing for those who live in a home filled with love. but still there are those who never tasted that. would their life be empty of meaning then?

So it was her that gives meaning to your life. Will you lose that meaning if you lose her too?

so life, as you see it, is something about living happily, making the most of it, and helping others along the way. basically, the same pattern of living life (happily) then that's it. end of the story. yeah, that make sense.
