Arsenal dream to lift the title for 2009/10 season seems to be over after a defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the London derby at White Hart Lane last night. With this defeat, Arsenal is remain six points behind Chelsea and has disadvantage over goals differences. With four games to played, Chelsea need to lose at least twice and draw once in order for Arsenal to pass them at the league standing order. And that is something really hard to be happen.
Tottenham Hotspur, looking for their own quest to qualify for next season Champion League, start brilliantly and score on the 10 minutes from their teenage midfielder, Danny Rose, on his debut. Spurs make it two nil two minutes after the break when Gareth Bale score his first goal after two and a half years.
Knowing that his team needed to win this game to have any chance to win the title for this season, Arsene Wanger replace Denilson with Robin Van Persie on the 68 minutes. This is the Dutch first game after being injured for the last five months. A goal from the Danish striker, Nicklas Bendtner, on 85 minutes bring hope back to Arsenal players. But that is the only goal they can produce and it is not enough.
Finally, Arsene Wenger conceded that his team lack of maturity that cost them dearly. And they would continue their run without trophy for the fifth season.
What do you think about Arsenal chance to lift the title or grab the second place this season?

Personally i believe their dream to win the title has been over for some time. They have had spells of good form and also scored many goals but i just don't think they've shown the same quality as Chelsea over the course of the season.
Admittedly Chelsea didnt exactly look convincing in the Bolton game, but they battled enough to get the points.
Arsenal meanwhile, were disappointing especially considering the fact it was a London derby which usually adds an extra edge to games.

Hi Matthammer,
Actually I did not give any chances for Arsenal to go for the title when the season started. But, before they lost to Tottenham Hotspur this week, they have a big chances to do it. They were only 6 points behind Chelsea but still had a game in hand that time. So, practically they have a very good one especially when we look at their remaining matches. Most of the team they had to meet are from the middle or lower of the table and they have won their match against them in this season. Chelsea, on the other hand, still need to face Liverpool. Even though Liverpool is not as good as last season but when this two team face each other, nothing can be assure until the final whistle.
I think the problem with Arsenal is their players are not has an experience and mature enough to face the critical situation. And that is proven at White Hart lane. hey put to much pressure on themselves and as a result, they can not perform like what they us to do.

Chelsea supporters must have been beaming with joy after the final whistle as they know the pressure is off to beat Liverpool. The title race is all but gone to Stamford bridge as that team is just too professional to let go with only about four games left. United have a derby of their own on Saturday and they have to beat City to have even the slightest sniff at a chance at the title, which looks like, believe it or not, a tall order given current form
All said and done, Danny's strike was sweet, but was helped by a flapping Almunia, who seems to have flashes of brilliance and mediocrity in equal measure!
Lets see what happens over the weekend and we can go from there. we will know if Chelsea will reclaim what they lost right about 3 years ago

Hi victiego,
With Arsenal lost, Chelsea can afford to loss a game and still be the champion for this season. And they might played their reserve if they can win the title before they meet Wigan. And they could win it before the end of this month if everything is on their side.

Yeah ... there is a possibility that Chelsea would lost two out of three games before the final match of the season since this is football. And nothing is impossible in football. And two of the three teams, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, still chasing for the forth place and qualify for the Champion League next season. They would definitely give their best and it means trouble for Chelsea. I hope we can see a good, entertaining matches in those two games.
