There are so many amazing NBA players out there right now and it is hard to say who compares to Michael Jordan. You have Shaq who has done an amazing time in the NBA world as he has some Champion rings under his name and so many more accomplishments. He is am amasing player and among that an amazing person who has made a name for himself with many different teams in the NBA.
Against all ods you have Lebron James, Dwyane Wade and one other person who i have forget his name. But all are amazing players and all have done amazing times playing in the NBA. As all of them habe championship rings. Now it the playoffs and you have amazing players playing and great named Teams playing. This time is rough but i am not sure who is compares to Michael Jordan as he is the man of the NBA.

Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. If you say the word greatness in basketball, it is always connected to the player wearing jersey#23 of the Chicago Bulls. Many players have all been compared to Michael Jordan, but they have no such trademark as "His Airness".
Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Dwyane Wade made some spectacular and buzzer-beating clutch plays in the NBA, but no one can ever lived with the name of Michael Jordan itself. He is the barometer of what greatness is and the trademark for the sport of basketball.

for me, michel is just second best NBA player of all-time... he is overrated as the all-time best because of his showmanship. to me, the all-time best is bill russell. we all know boston has the most championship in the NBA and bill russell brought more than 3/4 of those to boston... imagine 11 championship rings in 13 NBA seasons. he is a 5x MVP same as mike and the rest of the stat has mike higher than bill, but stats does not make you the all-time best but the number of championship that you have. blocks and steals were his main weapon (outdueling the behemoth wilt chamberlain) ,knowing thats the reason why he won 11 championship compared to wilt's. and i do believe defense wins championship and wilt is the main evidence for that

It depends on how you define the word great. In boxing Muhammad Ali is considered the greatest boxer of all time not because of his exploits inside the boxing ring but due to his charisma and principle outside the squared ring.
In my opinion, talent for talent, Jordan isn't the best but I still consider him the greatest because of his impact to the basketball world.
Now, second to him in my greatest list would be Bill Russell -- the focal point of the Boston Celtics dynasty. There are hundreds of superb players that roamed the NBA arena but there are just a handful of great ones. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, George Mikan, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Bob Cousy, John Havlicek, Kobe Bryant and Shaq to name a few.
LBJ is the number one player today and he's obviously better than Kobe but he hasn't reach the status of "greatness".

Second to Michael Jordan should be Magic Johnson, No. 32 of the LA Lakers. He is an all-around basketball player. He can be depended upon to deliver at clutch time. He is also a very good defensive player. His assists will leave you breathless. The blind pass, baby hooks and no look pass are just some of his favorite moves. You should see his highlights and be amazed by his moves.

Michael Jordon of course is the best, may be someone will say there are some other player better than he. but, Jordon make basketball popular in all of the world. so, he is the best not just in the game, and more base on out of the game. who is 2nd, in my mind, he could be Tim Duncan, while i begun to see the NBA, i watch the Duncan first year in NBA.
