Hello mylot community,
I have known much more about Jesus, from my discussions posted in mylot.
I know from peoples, Jesus is not God, he was son of God.
So who is God? Nobody see him? Nobody know him? Is he invisible? If we don't have any image or memory of God figure, then how can we know him, even if he came to Earth. So things are doing from invisible powers?
Another similar feelings, another similar story, The god of Muslim is also invisible. We can't imagine him. We can't draw a even picture or cartoon oh him (Muslim god). The invisible power.
Therefore the god of Muslim and God of Christian are same. There is not picture or statue.
If GOd is the same, then why religion differ?
Is there missing links...

I think God is everywhere...and yes, invisible to our eyes but there in the hearts and deeds of people. Very good question here, I didn't know muslims worshipped the same God that christians do...I just learned something! So..now that makes me wonder why the US is battling what they call terrorists or martyrs.

Hatley dear, I respect you a lot. The KKK are taught to kill people that belief differently from the rest of us. The Catholic church has persecuted people for centuries, even in America, when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was being established, its "founder" was martyred, so, that kind of activity does happen in America.
It is not as widely publicized as the more recent attacks, and neither is as well known, because it is not in recent history.
The 9/11 attacks were devastating, and anyone involved, should at the very least be brainwashed into service of the American people, Capital punishment is a symptom solution, but this is getting off topic. The point is the people involved are a very small minority of zealots, sadly, they were well funded and out to get people. The religion itself is not to err, but the people that take some things to far. The religion itself respects life of all forms.
Did you know that when Muhammad, conquered Jerusalem, not a single woman or child was slain or abused. Yet, when the Christians came during the Crusades, not a single person was left unabused.
The people that committed those crimes of nature, rightly deserved to be punished, but, please don't blame the majority for the actions of the Minority, it is kind of like blaming the American people for things the American Government does.
With Appreciation.

I dont often comment on religious discussions but this one reminds me of Abdul who was a friend at my work when I was about 18.
He was a Muslim and often talked to me about the Koran.
He wasnt trying to convert me or anything but he once said did the Bible have Mohammed and I said yes,he is in the older part of the book.
He said that in the Koran Jesus is mentioned as a prophet and that the god of the Koran is the same as the God of the Bible because there is only one.
Well that makes sense to me.
I dont know how you would recognise god if he came to earth though. Maybe he wouldn't want us to know he was here and would remain incognito.

Hi friend God is same not only for the Christians and Muslims but also for other sects in this world.Religion can be described as paths to attain God.We follow different paths but all of them end at a same place. Also God never comes down to save us He appoints somebody else to do the job for Him and that person is the child of God.It can be Jesus,Mohammad,Gautam Buddha,Mahabir and others. It is very difficult to describe God.He is the Almighty,The Supernatural Power that prevails in the Universe all the time and His work is visible all the time.

God is a concept we usually use for a supreme being. Note this; God does not exhibit any of the human nature, if He does then it's no God. God as suppose to be the creator of all things and the giver of life isn't a figure but a Force That Causes All Things To Be. don't expect to see God anywhere, but from accounts of great men in history we can see God manifesting Himself, proving He's real and not just an imagination. The accounts of Ten Commandment and The New Covenant in the Bible shows there is truly a God who is, who was, and is to come. ever present, all knowing. In one way God manifested Himself as a father; God the Father. As a man (Jesus); God the Son. And also as a spiritual force; God the Spirit. this doesn't tell He is many, but same God manifesting Himself in various ways. Note also, that it is wrong to represent God in any form with images and pictures.
For the final note: Christianity is different from any other religion, Islam is different from every other religion, also with other religions. This religion differs in terms of their understanding of who God is. these knowledge are essential as the only true God has a criteria for judgment(some call it fate) which all men goes through. there is no two ways to it, the only way is Jesus (John 1 : 1 - 10)

I don't even pretend to know who God is. Those of us who are spiritual feel Him in our own way. Personally, I think one of the problems with organised religions is that those in charge of the church/temple/whatever, put their own interpretation on written teachings and, because of THEIR interpretation, tell us how to live. Considering these things were written many moons ago, who is to say what the original intent was? From my small understanding, each of the religions want us to live by certain teachings that vary from culture to culture. My own belief is that God is good and wants us to live well and follow certain values - such as love one another, don't steal, kill etc. No matter the culture, these teachings are good, valuable lessons to live by. I do have a problem with teachings that suggest God would want certain races killed off, value people who blow up other cultures etc. My own belief is in a loving God - not one that would want people to kill in his name. Nor do I believe that God would be so strict that EVERY sinner would end up in a so-called Hell. If everyone who sinned went to this Hell place, who would be left to go to Heaven? We are ALL sinners in one way or another. The God I believe in can see that our heart is good and welcome us accordingly. As I said, it comes down to interpretation and, truly, I believe all any of us can do is live life in the best way we can.

by the way, it's true Jesus was Son of God.
Then, who is God?
Bible said the God is like a soul that created the world..
so God is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end..
its hard to describe the God...

If there were more gods ,they shall fight for supremacy.I believe in One God that is God of Hebrews, Christians believe in trinity God in three persons, so Muslim God cannot be Hebrew God.Jesus Christ revealed God ahead, in human form.Whether you believe it or not that is least concern for God.He has given you brain and knowlege and even Bible to know God. Read Bible you will find the real God.

Muslim and christianity belongs to the same god and they have the same faith.. Muslim's koran actually came from the christian bible, just that some muslims misinterpreted it in the wrong way, and thus causes all the diasters happening all over the world..
God are all the same for all religion, and it's the blind faith that ple has in them, which causes the differences.. Thus god is the cause of everything.. haha =D

You seem to be so successful in posting controversial topic about Jesus to generate more respondents. But you could not even post a line to acknowledge the responses. Well what does that mean?
At any rate, I am still replying to your post if only to show how lost you are. If you are the child of your mother who is a man then how could you not be man as well. Unless your mother is a pig and turned out to be a man then I would believe your theory that Jesus is just the son of God and could not be be God. Jesus is God who took the form of man to pay our sins. He left the splendor of heaven, and took the form of man so that He could fully satisfy the requirement for the full payment of our sin. But He himself is God, okay. And the God of muslims and the God of Christians are not one and the same. Our God is God but the God of Muslims is just god and not the real God that we should all worship. The Quran's Surah 17 111 says: "Praise be to Allah, who begets no son, and has no partner in (His) domain. If the God of Muslims does not have any son then how it could it be the same with God who has begotten son who is no other than Jesus who is Himself a God who gave people the hope for salvation?

Yes, we do come here to earn but as for me I wanted my comments to be acknowledged whether the poster agreed with my comments or not. That makes me feel appreciated. I don't need my comments to get positive response all the time but I found it very respectful of the poster if she or he acknowledges the respondents.

We humans cannot see God as long as we are in the flesh because He is a spirit.
We can know God through His word, the bible. How can you say that the God of the bible and Allah of the Muslim faith are the same when they left different instructions?

You are completely correct in the fact that no one has seen God and that no one has a personal relationship with God. God is a spirit and God is the creator of the world as we know it. In the course of one week, which is explained in the Book of Genesis in the Old Testament of the Bible, God created the world in much the way that we know it. It was during this period of time that the earth and the sky, plants and animals and even human beings were created. I don't know how this parallels to the Muslim God, but I hope that I've been able to give you some clarification.

To me God is a spirit, a spirit so pure that it is invisible. God is a vital principle; an animating force within all living things. All living things have an insatiable desire to continue to live perpetually. This insatiable desire has created a kind of a spirit, which is God. For anything to continue living it must generate and then regenerate perpetually. The spirit, which is God, does it for us. In all living things, this spirit personifies to generate. In human beings it had personified as the first person Adam. Let us assign the alphabet 'G' to this first person Adam. Then all things generated must organize. As trees and other plants in a large densely wooded area we call forest. However, if we organize the same trees and plants by cultivating them on a land we call it a garden. To organize everything he had generated God came again in personification of His own son. We know Him as Jesus. Let us assign Jesus the alphabet 'O'. All things created must come to an end, it must destroy itself, but God does not let this happen. When the world is about to destroy itself He will be personified once again. He does not come to destroy, but he comes to salvage whatever is worthy to continue in the next world. That salvaging process we know as salvation. Among the living things that are salvaged he is personified again to regenerate. Let assign the alphabet 'D' to the last person who comes in the times of destruction. The whole process lasts for one full age. Combination of all these three alphabets makes up that vital and animating principle GOD.
The question that might come in the minds of some people that if living things are creating God, then who created the living things. This universe came into being after the life ended on the other universe that existed before. There too the same vital and animating principle was at play. This vital principle God existed then; it exists now; and shall continue to exist forever.

Sorry I did not answer your last question, why do everyone differ on the concept of God. That is because they all view God from their own perspective. They refuse to see what others perspective is. It is as five blind men trying to perceive one elephant and they all viewed it differently.

vine hi remember the holy trinity God thefather, God the son, jesus, and God the holy Ghost, we christians learn faith and when we need to we will see God and Jesus too. sometimes something happens like you are ill and you almost die, you seem to be in a lighted passage at the end of it warm and welcoming you see a soft golden light and then Christ holds out his hand, and tells you go back child its not yet your time, behind him was his father looking much like the son but older, all in white robes. You wake up and you are still alive, sick yes but still much alive. So my faith tells me we will see him when its our time to leave this earth. til then we just imagine his looks and keep our faith.

Son of God. In the bible Jesus Christ is the son of God. Jesus Christ is the son of God. It is our faith that Jesus Christ is the son of God., But He is not a God. We have only one God. Please read the verse john 17:1.. It was Jesus Christ who introduced God to us. In this discussion as if you are confused who is God..Supposed the title should be who is God? ..God is invisible..We cannot see God and who attempt failed because God is Spirit...We worship God in spirit and in truth.

People were made in God's image, so when you see a person, you see God. Do you see air? No, but you know it exists, because you see trees bending to its will or waves rising in the tempest. It's the same with God. You may not see Him, but you can see the actions He causes and how people react to them.

God, is the Universe, the power that connects us all. The power of creation and love.
The Christian God, and the Muslim God, and the Jewish God, and several other faiths as well, are indeed all the same.
We will know Him, when we see him, because of the Power, and Glory that emanates from his being.
Now, the important questions. So, We understand that all scripture is inspired of God, for the use of man. When a Prophet, such as Moses, Jesus, Mohammad, Joseph Smith Jun, etc, are on the earth, they are inspired to write the words of God and keep a record. They write and build the religion, that God wants them to have. Then, because they are human, all be it, Jesus, is a small exception, they die. When they die, people(man) affix a different meaning to the words then what was inspired. Man, in our "wisdom" choose what we like best, and affix a meaning to it, and some people will affix a different meaning then others, and because we do not agree we fight about it, until it comes a climax, and one group separates from another based on their belief of the meaning of the words.
So, there are different religions, because once a prophet has passed on, people choose to take what they want out of their revelations and let the others go to dust.
Luckily for some of us, we have a living prophet on earth today. Some people do not believe this, and that is just fine as well. That is why there is such diversity, but worry not Unity will come when Jesus returns, whether it is this week, next year, 2012, or 3089....whenever that just happens to be.
With Appreciation.

Some sources say that Albert Einstein believed there was a God, but not a "personal" God. And many don't know that Charles Darwin also believed in God. So who is God? I don't believe he's some magic being. In an infinite timed universe, who knows what He is except He is way more powerful than we who are still learning things. A knowledgeable man or men a million years from now would appear to be a god to us. Notice in Exodus, God appears to be talking to someone else. So we don't have a clue who God is in terms of where He came from, what He is, etc.
Until I see differently, the Muslim god seeks to take Israel away from God's chosen people. Christians and Jews believe in the same God except Christians believe Jesus, a Jew, is the Jewish Messiah and Christian Savior. Some Christians believe the Jews lost favor with God and are no longer His chosen people. That is a mistake. Many Muslims are good people, but there are many who want to see Israel destroyed. Another bad mistake.

God is the belief that we all have. Like we cannot see the wind but only feel it that ihe same with God.
As far as God being same and religion differ that is because each of us is unique we can't all find our way to him by way of the same path. Also, as time passes, our metaphors change so we have trouble understanding what was perfectly self-evident to those in the distant past, so the message must be renewed on occasion.
It is our human failing that some of us cannot respect the religions of others.
