Hi all, when you get something for free, will you be particular about the condition of the item?
Must the freebie be as good as new?
Must it be at least in working/usable condition?
Or you won't be bother with it because it's something for free thus, the condition is the least worries?
For me, I will expect at least a working or usable condition.
But some of my peers felt that even if it is a freebie, it shouldn't be something like giving out scraps. (As in the condition shouldn't varies much from a new item).
What's your view and why?

Depends on what the item is as to the condition it needs to be in. I have had people give me lawnmowers and electronics that were not working and we have repaired them to like new condition. So I have to take each item on an individual basis and also look at if I have a need for the item before I decide if I will take it.

If I purchased an item as a bonus buy and it was not working than yes, I would take it back to the store. This is the only way the company has to know that the merchandise they are shipping out is defective. And as I was once told, nothing in the world is free, you pay for it somewhere along the lines. So I have to figure that the bonus buy was somewhere factored into the price of the item I bought.

Yes, I agree with you totally about nothing is free. A working condition freebie is the least the company should offer. I can't accept freebie that are in bad condition. But at time, when I got a non-working freebie, I won't always exchange it for a good one such as when I don't have much use for it or it's too troublesome to make a trip down.
