How fond you are of reading books? For normal book contain of few chapters and hundreds of pages..
Can you manage to read a few chapters in one day? Do you usually bookmark the last page you read ?
Myself once I start to read I must accomplished reading within 2 days otherwise I may lose my track and lose interest about it,..
How about you my fellow myLotters? For how long you could read a single book?

When I am really interested with the book, I cna finish it in no time. The twilight series for example, I finished all the books in less than a month. I can finish each book for less than a week. I've read the whole 4 books 2 and a half time already haha. I got really busy so I ended up not finishing my third round.

I love reading and depending on how good the book is will tell how fast I finish it. The only time I read a book in two days was a James Patterson book. He is my all time favorite author love everything he does. He always keeps me guessing til the end and with all of his books it is so refreshing that he never gets boring and falls into a rut.
Normally a great book I can read it in a week. I do use book markers and if the book is slow I give it to page 100 if I am still bored by then I take the book back to the library and get another one.
I don't read ebooks though I love to curl up either in my room or outside on a nice sunny day and read. There is something peaceful about that and I hope books will be around for a very long time.

Hello snoopyfan,
I totally agree with you snoopy it varies to every book which we find interesting in reading and if its really worth to keep the time on then we can go further and finish as soon as we could.
Your all time favorite author also good and his books has become best seller of those season.
E-book well myself too, unless it will download to my ipod then I can read them wherever I am ,but I still prefer a hard copy of books. Thanks for sharing and Happy myLotting!

I generally read a book in one sitting, no matter how long it takes, because if I put it down, I often don't get back to finishing it. I have dozens of books I started and never finished... Now if I tried to finish them, I'd have to start over

I absolutely LOVE to read...BUT unfortunately for the past nearly two yrs I've not had the time to do nearly as much as I would like...Thats changing though since I've made some changes in my life and freed up some time...That said..if a book is good and I've the time I can (and have) read a book in as little as two hours.."A Child Called It" was the last one I read in that time..

Hello Ravenladyj,
That's sad to know you had stopped reading for quiet long time, but that's for your own reason though, you are absolutely right when reading an interesting book you can't even think how to stop, especially if really up of your interest.
Thank you for sharing and Good day!

when i was still hooked to reading i normally finish a medium size pocket books at a minimum of 3 hours (around 200pages)..i don't like pausing and interrupting the momentum of my imaginative mind while reading.
when i was reading the prelude to lord of the rings , the hobbit i try to finish it as soon as possible but i have a day job back then i can't afford not to sleep so it took me three days to finish it..
now i completely abandon reading books, its my pcs fault and the net..haha

it depends a bit. Some books - just a couple of days. Others - maybe a few weeks. I thought i spendt a lot longer on a book than i actually do. When i started to count how many books i have read so far this year i would say i probably spend about one week on avarage on a book. I always read something - ie, i read at bedtime every night.
I do not bookmark - i leave the book open. Sometimes i will use the cover of the book though, but not often. I never ever ever fold the pages. I love my books and do not want to mark or ruin my books in any way.
I finished a crimestory last night. I have to find something new to read tonight. I have a moviescript that i might read: Upperdog, by Sara Johnsen. The movie got great reviews. I have not seen it yet. I just love this author/filmmaker, so i am sure i will love this text too.
Have a great day

Depends on how big the book is. I can read a pretty thick book in about an hour. If its something like the bible that's going to take a few days.

Ah, for me, it really depends on the book that I'm reading and how much extra time do I have, usually nowadays, I'm only able to read a book during lunch, or before I start working if I get to work really early, and while I'm waiting in line to ride a jeepney going home. Hehhee. With that, I can't really finish a book in a few days, it sometimes takes me a week. But if I really like the book, then I can finish it in no time ( but I won't be doing any work then. hehehe. )

hie clouds, it depends on the type of book i am reading. when i am reading an interesting novel, i can read quite fast and finish in a week's time. when i read the reader digest, i can finish in 2 days time. when i read cartoons scripts, i can finish very fast within a day or so. when i read and meditate on the Bible, it takes me a year or more to complete as i keep going back to read the familiar chapters and verses.everytime i read and meditate on the Bible, i get new revelations and understanding. i depend on the bookmark to help me along. basically i love reading and reflecting on what i have read. reading is a golden habit. so make reading a life time endeavour and passion. cheerio.

thanks cloud31 for your sweet comment. i wish you all the best in our reading and hope this reading habit rubs on our loved ones and friends too. a survey here in my country showed that reading was on the decline, too many distractions etc. besides alot like to glance or browse through comics and light reading magazines.have a great weekend, cloud31.

Sometimes it can take a week for me to read a book / novel and sometimes it can take a couple of months. It doesn't matter how good the book really is it all depends on how busy my life is or the frame of mind that I am in.
When I get going and really get stuck into a good novel then I will read it very quickly no matter how hectic my life is. Sadly this does not happen very often, I should try to read more as I feel it is good for you to keep your mind active.

Hello ms Hatley,
That's alright at least you are enjoying yourself reading and participating in myLot discussions its like a book itself and now in myLot you can still have to use of our mind to respond not like books that we just have to put the things on our mind..Thank you for sharing ma'am.
Have a nice day always.

Hello ms cream,
I'm happy knowing you love reading books too, you read quiet fast either, for 25 chapters it will be a thick book I guess, and if you can read half of it in a week that's the best just imagine 4 chapters a day its absolutely wonderful.
Thank you for sharing and Good day ahead!

If it is a good book, I will not be able to put it down, a couple hundred page book, I can finish in a couple of hours! There are times that I will stay up until I finish it! Also my husband and I have our own library in our house so I will reread a book often if it is a favorite. I find that when I read at an average of 30 minutes a day or so, it may take a couple of weeks to read a book, but it is the way I like to relax and take mind off of the daily grind:)
