I wonder what the heck these people are thinking. I have known about God since I was a small child. I know what is right and what is wrong, and I thought everyone knew this, but then these prisoners get caught and they all of a sudden find God! What the heck do they think after they go to jail for doing something wrong and start to worship God that HE will just release them and they can go without punishment? God may release them but that is Gods choice. My point here is God isn't lost if people would do as God had written in the bible there would be a lot less crimes. It says in the bible for a rapist and a murder it is the same punishment send them back to the FATHER and HE will deal with them.Deuteronomy 22:20-25 1st epistle of John 3:15. Well this woman killed her 2 year old daughter and is upset that she has to spend time in jail for this crime. Someone on the news said that she found God! This angers me God was never lost it was her that was lost for doing this crime to her own child. Who could kill their own child? Just because they find God do we forgive and let them get away with murder and rape?

I believe God is a forgiving god. On that note, we should be too. Then again, Everyone "finds" God, when they are confined. If you have ever had a friend or loved one in jail, who is normally a pain in the keister, then you will know that they are all about change, and "baby, I love you and promise to be better". It's just a response that tells you that they are scared of being locked up at that moment. This is their way to make light of whatever situation they have been in. I know. I went to jail on a child support issue, though minor, I felt renewed, and reborn when the pastor came in and preached. I was ready to go and face the world. I found security in God when I was locked up and lost it shortly after I got out. Just being Honest. You are locked up in a cell with very few people to really associate with, so all you have is God, or the thought of Him.

Hi Peedielyn. At least your honest about it. I am a Christian now and have been brought up as a Christian all my life I have been taught the word of the LORD. You got what I meant when in tight places you only have God to turn to. So why is my question do people only admit that they know God as soon as the tough get tough? Why not let God guide us daily and let things fall into place as God would see fit? No one is prefect. We all slide out of Gods grace at some point and time in our lives but if we repent then then we are forgiven, why can't we as normal humans see this?

It's all about a "faith" thing. People are so used to having the physical luxeries that they don't see the being around it. I was raised up on the Bible. Not so religiously but my dad never failed to mention God or Christ in anything. I pray often and think and try to meditate and I am getting there, but it shouldn't take a person to get locked up to see that He is there. He is everywhere. It's the wanting of physical proof that keeps people away. It's sad really. And that is selfish.

Hi Peedielyn. Faith don't come easy for some. It is hard for some to see all the love that God gives all of us. For me I was brought up religious my mom was took us to church when the doors was open we were there. I thank God for the mother I had she was abusive but she taught us all about God and for that I am grateful. If people would just follow Gods word they would see Gods blessings. To recieve Gods blessings we have to be pleasing to God. And by doing what is right in Gods eyes then we are pleasing God. Read Hebrews Chapter 11 it is the faith book. But not many people would take the time to read and see that those people had God with them and some still didn't believe in Christ. Look what they did to HIM and HE walked with them. Physical proof is in the way people do unto God. I know a few years back my life was a living hell! I would wake up and pray and ask God to let that be the last day I was alive everyday for 12 years. Then one day I met the man I am married to now and on the way home I prayed and asked God if I have ever done anything right in my life to please give me that man. Sure enough 3 months later he is my husband. And we have a great life. We are still poor and can't afford some things but God gives us all we need to live. And that is a great thing! I now pray God and ask God to make me a better person. I no longer ask God to take this life of mine. For now I am happy and it all came from our LORD!

People pretending to have found god can easily be noticed but those we found it sincere why not just give them the chance and forgive them. After all we are humans who will easily tempted and commit a sin.And with those people pretending to be with god just let face the consequence that what God has in store for them.

If they are truly repentant, then God will forgive them, but they still have to pay for their sins. The point here is repentance They have to admit that they committed a sin not just against society, or the other person they harmed or murdered, but against God. they cannot think in their hearts that the governor will grant them a reprieve. In other words, they have to be willing to accept that they may be executed some time, and if not, spend the rest of their lives in jail.
But many prisoners think that if they say they found God, that the warden of the prison may make them a model prisoner, they will be found innocent, the jail walls will break down, etc. Their repentance is false and well at the end, God will say "Depart i never know you," but if the warden, governor, etc. believes that the repentance is true, then a dangerous killer may be let loose on society.

Hi Suspenseful. You are so right they do have to truly repent and God may forgive them. It just really upsets me that when they get caught with their hands in the cookie jar they think that if they say they found God that everyone will forgive them. I really like how you put your response.

In my own opinion this sinners who murders anybody should still suffer the punishment that is meant for them. They murder or commited crimes in this world and they are liable to pay for thier sins. They may find God inside the jail but they can't just undo what crimes they have commited.
If they really find God with in themselves so they must show to God that they repented their sins by accepting the punishment with open heart. From there they could truly claim that God really forgiven them and they want to change their lives for the better.

Hi Reckon. I do believe that even if they do accept God they should like you said still take the punishment for the sins they did. I think some of them are saying this cause they want what they want and think that this will get them better treatment. If you know God before the crime then you won't commit the crime in the first place. It says in the King James Bible Deuteronomy 22:25-26 when a person commits rape or murder to send them back to the Father (meaning God). There is acceptance for those that commit murder if it was done by an accident and not on purpose.
