Before the advent of touch screens on phones and before smartphones became commonplace, Nokia handsets used to have the distiction of being very reliable phones. Not anymore it seems. my 5800 XM was my first touchphone and is about a year old now.
It has had so many issues with the fone freezing on me soo many times I couldt care to remember. I hadly installed more than 10 apps on it and the 8GB external flash is half full/empty. My friend has the N900 and it seems to suffer from the same blues and within a month had issues with the camera. Is the touch screen technology a crack in Nokia's Armour?

That is because Nokia is still using Symbian OS which is a very outdated mobile software, it cannot keep up with the technology. Apple as a software company makes their own OS for Iphone, and there is a new open source mobile OS called Android that is designed for the latest touch screen and high spec phones.
Nokia was reliable when phones were simpler. Now technology is advancing and they can't catch up their software.
