For the last Month I have been having a lot of Problems with my Lungs again I am putting it down to the move, stress and the way our Weather is at the moment
Monday I had to phone up again
Now there is no infection but the Pains I am getting is my Lungs expanding again
Anyway, they have now put me on a new Inhaler, a stronger one that as from now I have to take instead of the one that I had
I have 3 Inhalers that I have to take
I went to the Chemist got my Prescription and when I got home I took the first 2 puffs of the new inhaler, about half an hour later I started shaking, I men shaking, I could not stop it and it was hard to type on here, I phoned the Nurse, who told me that yes this will happen for a few Days as it is a much stronger inhaler, till my Body gets used to it that is one of the side effects
Well I had to take it again at Night, again I was shaking, I was in bed reading, when I started it was that bad I dropped my Book and of course just my luck Gissi was sleeping next to my bed, so the Book dropped on him, which did not impress him
Well today is Thursday and the first Day that I did not shake, the Pain in my Lungs is getting a bit better, I just have to be very careful at the moment that I do not overdo things and put pressure on my Lungs
So have you ever had Medications given to you that affected you like this ?

That sounds scary. Glad to hear that he shaking has stopped, hope it doesn't come back. I got dizzy from some pain medicine one time, that was the last time I took that. Side effects from medicines can be scary, and all medicine has side effects. I hope you keep getting better. Take care.

Maggiepie sometimes has to take steroids for her asthma and they make her shake.
While I had a few asthma like events when I was younger, I haven't had them since - and they were most likely allergic reactions to the air pollution coming in from Dallas (I was living in Denton and that is only about 40 miles from Dallas and it was after several days of serious overcast and a very light south wind.)
I haven't had the problems since, but I never smoked and have been avoiding air pollution as best I can since then.

I've never taken medication that's given me side effects that bad. In fact, I don't think I've ever experienced any side effects, at least that I noticed, with any of the medications I take now or in the past. Gabs, take it easy! I'm glad you're feeling a little better. Let's see how it goes...

No, I do not think so. I have not had to have any inhalers. I have taken care of people who had to have them, though, and that, along with steroids, is the pits. I had some "interesting"reactions to pain pills, though, and bad mood swings. I am glad that you are feeling some improvement in your lungs, and it really is a bit funny about your book falling on Gissi.

hi gabs thats sad it is better for your lungs but m akes you shake,I wonderif it affects the sugar in your blood, try eating just a small glass of orange juice or some candy and see if the shakes go away,if
they do it might just be lowered blood sugar as we all must have some in'our blood to keep our poor brains working right. I am a diabetic so those steroids should never have been prescribed for me,its a wonder I did not stroke out when my blood pressure was 210 over 69 so Am so glad, nobody will ever make me take them again. lol. hope you soon get used to that new inhaler too. the steroids are almost out of my body but last night I neglected the warning signs of low blood sugar my eyes were seeing spots and then I started to shake so stumbled over to my bed, and checked myblood glucose,it was 63 so ate some candy and was soon back to normal. gabs do take care of yourselfplease I do worry about you as all of us do I am sure and give Gissi a hug from me. hugs to you three of them in fact.hehe.

Hi Sweet Gaby,
You must be in so much pain all the time. I'm glad your new inhaler is helping. I'm also on a new one. I don't have COPD but I have something called Sarcoidosis which is affecting my lungs so I too have to use a couple of inhalers plus oxygen when I need it. My Symbicort makes my voice hoarse and at first made my throat sore but now it causes hoarseness. Other than that, my pain meds. in the beginning made me dizzy and sleepy till I got used to them.
I think the shaking would have freaked me out. Poor Gissi!! I feel so bad when I step on Dexter or drop something on him but he follows me like my shadow. He seems to forgive me very quickly.
By the way, our move just about killed both me and hubby. His COPD is definately getting worse. I feel so bad for him.
You take care.
Love Ya,
Leenie

I have just been advised about what to use to help with the Breathing I know I am not going to spell it right lol but Sparks advised me on this as it works for her MIL
Put some Eucalyptus Oil on some Linen and inhale it when ever you have Probs sleeping, at Night put it next to your Bed so I will be getting some
I am sorry that it has made you both so sick and I really hope you are both a bit better
Love you

Hey Gabs~ I am sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well
and that you have had to have this new inhaler that has made
you feel worse! Sometimes new meds do that in the beginning and
you just have to let them work through until you get used to them!
I know it is difficult, but you have to try to let them run
their course! Even if you have to drop a book on poor little
Gissi (hope it was at least a Paperback)lol he will understand!
Just do whatever the doc tells you to so that you will start
feeling well again soon! We all love you so much and don't want
to have you being sick! Please take care of yourself so that
you will be ok! Someone has to take care of that fiesty little
man now! Who else will do it if you don't? Sending you lots of
love and prayers, Leslie, Star & Luna, We love you and Gissi so
very much!

Would you be willing to tell us what inhalers you take? I take Salbutamol on a necessary basis, and Ciclesonide twice daily. I used to be taking another steroid inhaler on a daily basis, but that really made me feel weird, and extra paranoid. The doctor said it was rare to get those effects from a steroid inhaler, but I started doing much better after I got it changed around. The shaky feeling you're talking about reminds me of when I've gone into the hospital for asthma problems and was given large amounts of salbutamol. I hope everything gets better with your problems.

I was in the hospital twice last year with my heart attacks and I had to use inhalers/breathers and one , albuterol made me shake like you are talking about.
The dr did take me off that one and it made a big difference.
I don't need any breathers or inhalers now thank God !
I also have a reaction to codeine.
I get very sick and I have to be taken to an ER.
I do hope you are feeling much better.
Big Old hugs,
quita

hell0!
nope, I haven't had some experience like this
before and I only hope that I won't have, because
it is something really scary and I only wonder
was it a doctor's mistake or something else, because
I have never trusted doctors and always check their
diagnose twice by two different doctors!
