Anyone seen the new budget?

It was due by April 15...but guess what? Congress has not done it. Yep the dealine is here and congress has not submitted or voted on it. Heck word is they have not even completed writting it. The Congressional Budget Act (CBA) of 1974 specifies that Congress complete its annual budget resolution by April 15th. Without a budget, it will be easier for Congress to lack discipline and continue on its reckless path of overspending. Not to mention without a budget the American people have no idea how much money congress plans to spend and on what. So what do you think of this....where is the budget? When will we see it? You live on a budget right? So should congress. Tell me what you think.

They're never on time. Doesn't matter what party is in charge. It's pretty much always late. Not a big deal.

... Pushing through a stimulus was an emergency, pushing through a health care bill was an emergency, as were many other things, but doing something that had a preordained finite timeline, wasn't?

What budget? I loath the concept that the annual spending bill is called a budget. I have never send a real budget to has an annual built in deficit. Congress is late in creating a spending bill, not a budget that will be close to 4 trillion dollars, close to half of that will be unpaid for. The budget is in a way a bad thing because it lumps all spending into one big spending bill. No one wants to vote against the budget because the budget has something in it for them. If everything was a separate spending bill Congressmen and Senators might actually have a reason to oppose that bill, if for the only reason their district or state does not benefit form it.

Not only can Congress not prepare or live within budget, I don't think I've ever seen them get it done on time. So what makes this year any different?
