When I am in that situation I usually try to find another book about the same topic. Authors have different ways of explaining things, and if I don't understand a certain topic I like to read another book about the same topic. I also like to look for information online, but you have to be a little careful, because some of the information that you find online is wrong. Some school have websites where you can find information about their subjects, I sometimes use those sites, and some of them are very useful. Another technique that I use when I don't understand something is to divide it in small parts and read it very slowly. Good luck on your test
