Why do you think that Bones doesn't want to try a relationship with Booth?

I think Bones is scared. When she gets scared she turns to the one thing that makes sense to her; logic. I think the next few weeks will be very interesting in the Bones/Booth relationship department!!

Yeah, She was definitely scared, but it's so obvious that she loves him. Maybe she's scared to reconsider her previous thoughts on love. I was really really upset that they chose to end the episode this way, it made me really sad. It definitely speaks to the fact that they're probably planning on keeping them apart until the series ends. They'll probably get together then, but that's too long of a wait! They're perfect for each other, and they both know it, and I hate that a little bit of fear is the only thing keeping them apart.

Or maybe they want us to think they are keeping them apart until the end of the series. I think by the end of this season Bones will realize that she should try a relationship, but it will take probably half of next season to work out the relationships that Bones has with Booth's boss; Andrew?; and a new love interest for Booth. But I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 more seasons(anyone know)???
I honestly don't think that them being together will effect the cases; if they write it well enough. Really the only thing missing in Booth and Bones' relationship is that they aren't lovers.

I think that engaging a physical and emotional relationship with a co-worker might cause a problem in their professional relationship, in addition to Bones' awkwardness into the emotional attachment that a relationship ensues. Another theory might be that since Booth is the very much the opposite of Bones when it comes to perspectives and some personality characteristics, she might be afraid on how to deal with him since she had no experience with men like Booth.

This week's Bones was the first one I've seen in a few weeks. I've been going to the gym in the evenings after my kids go to bed so I miss it. It figures as soon as I start missing episodes, they finally start heading towards those two getting together. I think that you are right about why she didn't want to try it. I wonder if they will try it or if they will keep dragging it out. I'd love to see them try a relationship, but not if it is going to end the show. I love watching the show.

She has said that a committed long term relationship is not rational or possible. So somewhere inside she realizes that since Booth thinks the opposite, that she would just end up hurting him and it would probably ruin their friendship and partnership in crime solving which she does not want to happen.
