There is only one secret to a lasting relationship. and that is respect!When we respect people in our lives, we give them the connotation that they are valued not just as friends, parents, siblings, partners but as human beings created by a loving God!

I disagree with your assessment that there is only one secret to a long lasting relationship. For example, take into consideration the importance of truth and fidelity. I hardly think that a relationship based solely on mutual respect could last if both parties respected each other and yet lied and cheated on each other.
In my opinion, there are many factors to a long lasting relationship, and they are different for each and every relationship and those involved. You can't hope to nail every single relationship and it's devices of longevity in a single word. There are too many ways people can show their love for each other.
