Do you believe that there are other life forms in the cosmos other than humans?

Last day i came across a book called "chariots of the gods?" written by erich von daniken.He believes that our ancestors were visited by other beings from the cosmos in the past.It aroused my curiosity to know whether there exists any other life forms in the cosmos.I wanted to know how many mylotters believe in these other lifeforms.
Thank you

I'm so happy that you read that book. It is an absolutely fascinating read.
I think you will be happy to know that modern physics, which describes the universe as an infinite space, technically proves the existence of aliens!
The logic goes like this: In an infinite space, there is room for an infinite number of possibilities. Not only does this prove the existence of aliens, technically speaking, but it also describes a universe in which every possible outcome of any situation has not only happened, but is happening, and will happen, simultaneously.
What is the important thing to take away from this? Why, that the Transformers are real, of course! =D

It also proves the existence of Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. They might not be real in the dimension we inhabit but in other dimensions, who knows? As the old maps used to say ... "Here be Dragons".

There are no such things as dimensions???
What about height, width, thickness, and time? These are dimensions 1-4. You need to read up on your physics, buddy. There are at least 10 known dimensions...haven't you ever wondered what 3D stands for? Three-dimensional.

There are other life forms on this earth besides humans, if it comes to that (though I suppose that you really mean 'life forms with an intelligence at least comparable to that of humans').
There is quite a high probability that life of some kind has evolved elsewhere in the Universe quite independently of life on Earth and there is a strong possibility that it has, in a few places, developed to a complexity that could involve conscious thought, reasoned choice of behaviour, communication of ideas between entities and other things that define 'intelligence'.
Our definition of ourselves ('humans') as 'intelligent' and of other species as 'unintelligent' is highly suspect, in any case. If you take one (very over-simplified) definition that "intelligence is the ability to learn about, learn from, understand, and interact with one’s environment", you can devise tests which prove that all life, from single-celled bacteria and even viruses do all of those things. Even if you go on to qualify the definition by saying that it includes
"adaptability to a new environment or to changes in the current environment; capacity for knowledge and the ability to acquire it;
capacity for reason and abstract thought;
ability to comprehend relationships;
ability to evaluate and judge and
capacity for original and productive thought",
you will find that some of the higher life forms besides humans also tick most of the boxes.
Intelligence is a very complex thing to define absolutely and it may turn out that 'intelligent life' could be quite a different thing from individual beings, like humans, walking upright on two legs and communicating with sounds and gestures.

There are some kinds of bacteriae that can exist in conditions that are unfavourable for us.So there is a very good chance that there might be bigger life forms capable of the same.So even if we find planets which may not support life forms of our kind,it might support life forms that can live in these conditions.

I believe there's a spiritual world made up of angels, both good and bad, all around us that we're not privileged to see. I don't, however, believe in what some call aliens. But don't be surprised if there's a rapture of the Christian church that many will claim those Christian believers will have been kidnapped by aliens from other planets.
