Hello vine, many times I am tempted to skip your discussions because honestly I get hurt everytime you make discussions dismissing God as nothing. I am not a bible expert that's why I could not shove to you biblical verses proving of his existence. Besides, I don't think a person like me can sway you from your beliefs or non-belief. All I feel is that, the fact that you are questioning whether he is real or not, it means that He is at work in your life right now. Embracing that is totally up to you. I just live by a certain saying that I have read before. Can't exactly remember the words right but it said something like that, "I would rather live believing there's a God, and die realizing that there's none, than to live my life believing there is no God only to die and realize that there is one."

No, God is not going to float down from above in person to help you. He sends people and sometimes angels in the form of man for that.

I beg to disagree on what you said about God on how to rescue you, of course He did that 2000 years ago, you may not even know why and how. But I personally testify here that when me and my family were in danger, he came to the rescue because it was Him that we called first not the firefighters, not the police, not the ambulance or so. It happened recently last week of March 2010. Our neighbors house just beside us caught fire. It was massive and it was really scary. We were all terrified with what is happening. Although neighbors came to help holding buckets of water as they try to put the fire off but nothing happened. Probably someone has called the fire fighters and still in wait for them to come. But the fire was really huge and I felt so helpless that I cannot do anything so I hurriedly asked my family to gather and hand in hand we asked God as we pray. We cried to Him that we cannot do anything, and our house will be next to be burned. If it was his will do to so, we ask for His protection and mercy because if there is anything not pleasing to Him, we did ask for forgiveness. It was really a miracle that I can boast here. God heard our prayer. After we prayed, we immediately heard the firetrucks alarm coming in. The house of our neighbor got burned although it didn't create any harm to our house. This is because we first seek Him and by faith we asked of Him. There is nothing impossible for God to do.

Honestly non of them, I would probably remember family or more exactly - my mom. 911 is for when there is problems related to health, at least is what people do usually and still, people here teach kids to just use it as a super last resource when nothing can be done except that. God, well, who can think except when true problems of life happen and nobody can fix it? At least I only think about God when nothing can be done aside just get used to it and live life for another day and forget what happened, better days happen.

God is the biggest scam in the time of humans! som preasts made the bibel to theyr needs and greed. also if you pray to god you will get 3 answers: yes, no or wait. the same exact answers yo would get from a rock. lets say you asks the rock for a new car or to never get sick. either you get a new car the day after and the rock got goodlike powers or you will hawe to wait for it maybe for the rest of your life and still you could say that the rock is still god but it sad no to you.

I'll remember my MOM! Maybe God too later. But 911? nah! Why remember police... cause I'm never going totake help from anyone stated. Better to tackle with the problem myself. I may call 911 but not for me, only when is more right thing to do (legal matters).

lol =D NAh, luckily for me, i dun belong to the 99% at all.. haha =D First thing i will remember, is the cops, and be calling them!! haha =D IMagine when there's a shootout near us, and the phone is within our reach, will we be wasting time praying to god, before calling?? lol =D IT's just basic instinct to be calling the police first before praying to gods, hoping they come fast!! haha =D

Due seems that God most of the times is too much busy doing something else intead of care about humans, also when the troubles are big and surely lot of people are calling Him (wars, earthquakes, typhoons, and so on), I can image He will don't care about a single call ;). So my choice should be the police. When I was in Italy I could chose between 2 numbers, 112 113 (we have 2 different national police, and nobody never understood why). Now I'm living in china, so I should call the 110. The problem is that I can't speach chinese, so it should be an useless call. So the only solution for me actually is try to stay far from the troubles. And if it happens, at least I've an advantage: I know I will run out from the trouble with my own strenght.

this is avery good question. I sopose it would depend on what kind of trouble you were in. If you feel hopless I am sure poeple will call on god.

Praying is the most powerful tool for asking help. It enables us to deal with seemingly impossible ordeals in our life. God sends instruments through it. He also shows us that he is very real through prayers. It is a single most important action for us to show that we NEEDED him. God transcends all religion and ultimately there would come a time where finally all religions where put into one. Having faith to him and giving your belief to him will eventually bear fruit..Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson exemplified this,many people before and after him showed that through God's grace,we can succeed in our ordeals

if when i am in trouble,i will not think God ,coz i have no belief ,i will call my paraents and my friends to get help...except that i see these terroists ,i have to call 911 ,maybe they are United Nations Peacekeeping Force happy mylotting

If I find myself in trouble the first thing I will utter is, "Oh my GOD", and then think of calling up the Police. I would do so unconsciously because GOD is ever present in my mind. I notice presence of the police only when I see one. Though I cannot see GOD I feel his presence all the time.

i have to disagree with you. i am an atheist and there is no such thing as god, if i was in an emergency i would not remember god. god is not real, just something that humans made, a belief. i also disagree with the "1%" of god in my heart, i don't believe in god at all.

hi vine I pray to God all the time not justif I am in trouble. when I was lying on the pavement trying to get up and my left arm just dangled'I just asked God to help me, and before I had sat there for a few second there were four people, trying to help me, and one was the smartest as he called the paramedics and they took me to the hospital where I was xrayed and my shoulder was injured too badly to be set, they had to remove all the bits of crushed bone and surgically insert a shoulder joint replacement.But i was not afraid as I knew God was looking after me and for your information 911 is not the police it is the paramedics and they may or many not send police depending on what the problem is. Those paramedics were there in just a few minutes and were so kind and so gentle that i was not afraid though I was in a lot of pain too. So the paramedics were like my angels on earth and they were so gentle too. And even my insurance came out so wonderfully as they paid for all the hospital and doctor and surgery, it came to a horrible sum 86000 dollars and if I had to pay that from my pocket I could never have paid it, god and the paramedics and my insurance all were helping me.

I remember GOD. We don't have 911 here in our country. I remember God since He is the only one that can help me other than myself when I am alone. That's what I think.

its always God, i strongly remember God when im in trouble or in a middle of very big challenge or trial in life and to be honest most of the times i forget God when i have a good times, but still God is always the one i remember and not the Police because Police sometimes contribute to your problem

I think that the Big and More Helper of us is GODWhenever someone is in trouble, so he keeps remember THE GOD. because God is Everywhere.GOD says in HOLY BOOK that I am presentb everywhere.You remember me,I will help you. on other side police,so he also remembers and demand help from GOD whenever thay are busy in operation or in investigations.
