does clicking ptc / ads on ptc site invites spyware?

Hi mylotters, I checked my laptop for viruses and malware today again. I found there are 21 instnces fof spyware/malware in it today. When I as not clicking on ptc or similar easy to earn sites, the virus run used to give no indication of spyware/malware. Even though I am running trendmicro protection for my laptop, I noticed that since I start clicking ptc, instances of spyware/gayware has increased. Do you think clicking ptc or signing up up for other sites as task may bring spyware/malware in to our system and can do us greater harm? What is your opinion? Is my thinking right?
