Yes, thanks for asking this discussion..Now I remembering my college days...Oh! What days those are...... Now coming to your discussion I prefer both..Mostly I use to study self. When exams near I sit at night times and study with those peaceful environment..But when any friend ask like can we study together then I won't avoid it for sure..In my college times all the semester exams I studied with my friend...We just study one unit each and share so we finish 2 unit same time...really those are great moments..we will play when it is boring..chat..so it is really nice thing to do combine study...

so it seems like you have enjoyed a lot when you study with in a group. so do you say that group study is more efficient than self study.

It depends on the situation...when we need to study new chapters then group study is the best...if we want to study something in depth and want to memorize then self study is the best..

self study makes me to concentrate well yet combined study gives more information shared by the others. if the topic is new then I'll choose a combined study to acquire all the information i could miss by self studying. but, if i'm familiar with it, i rather choose self study as i said for more concentration. a group will just do recreational stuff.

so you are making some tactical approach to combine study and self learning!

I prefer studying by myself. I think group studying can work in some cases but it doesn't work with me and my friends. I've tried studying with my friends before, and while it sounded like a good idea to have friends to talk to while you get your work done, nothing gets done when there is friends to talk to. We always end up going off topic. Group study might work for those who don't get distracted easily (clearly not me)

I actually have trouble if I would have to have a group study cause it confuses me so many times. I studied in a problem-based learning curriculum and the teacher get to see us for only a few minutes during our meeting and does not discuss things about our topics. We were grouped to have a group study but I didnt like the idea of it cause there were so many people in the group and they have different ways to study and also different ways in understanding the topics. I prefer studying alone cause I dont wanna get confuse.

It all depends on habit actually. By habit, I study alone. I don't need a group of people to motivate me to study. I don't like waiting for people, that is another.People tend to bond during combined studies, but I am not fond of things like this. Its a personality thing. If you have an eye for detail, you don't a group. Long term wise, I think studying alone is better because you definitely are forced to know everything, like thesis. Unlike group study, you specialize in only 1 topic. This is just my opinion, don't take anything against it.

It does depend on what subject it is I am studying for. I know for me if I study for Math and Science I need the extra help and therefore I will study in a group. I feel it helps me to learn from others. I know if I study for a class that is easier for me such as Psychology or English I study better alone. I feel that if you study in a group it is important to stay focused on the class material and not have a chat session.

I prefer self study because when studying with friends everyone jokes around, chat and gossip and just kill time.So combined study is a waste of time for me.But when bright students and dull students study together then its really useful because both of them can learn form each other.

Self study will always yeild good results.but sometimes combined studies will be more beneficial when the subject is hard to study. many people have different approach in undestanding the subject.. I would like to say combined study with goood friends always make sense..
