Nowadays, more and more people are getting online especially those of younger ages. With all the different things that are happening on the web such as social networking, blogging, vlogging, gaming, youtube etc, we are more and more consumed by the internet as opposed to us consume the internet. Internet addiction is a problem that is rampant not just in developed countries but also beginning to rear its ugly head in third world countries with available internet connection. Some kids in South Korea for example spend up to 18 hours a day on the internet. Some have to be hospitalized because of it. What do you guys think about this growing problem? Are you an internet addict? How much time do you spend online in a day?

i spent almost 8-12 hours per day on internet. Yeah well...most probably because me and my husband are living apart due to study commitment. It is not easy though. The choice is only to depend on the internet since the cost for make a call rather expensive. We spend almost from morning to evening chatting but at the same time, we also doing the assignment and any other things. Not just focus on chatting. But, for me, high school student or teenagers use the internet almost all the time if they have a chance. I think it is not the good way to use the internet since they spend on gaming most probably.

I paid my living expenses by selling stuff on the internet, so I spend most of my time in front of my laptop. I spend at least 3-5 hours a day online. some call me addicted but some just say it common. I believe it's OK to be an internet addicted as long as it useful, get you money would be even better, just don't forget that we still have other people/family we need to care, love and respect.

It pretty much depends. The time that I spend on the pc is not allways spend online, because I use my computer a lot for homework and papers aswell. This is mostly done offline, but even so you are using the computer and therefor have the risk of getting a mouse arm or whatever other risks there are involved when using your pc for too long. I do think that internet and computer addiction is a growing problem. Especially addiction to gaming. People connect online, but if you stop engaging in real life activities something is severly wrong. Luckily there is also a big group of people who savely enjoy it as a hobby and know when to stop.

i spend like 8 hours a day - max of 10 hours if i am at work.. but usually just 4 to 5 hours on weekends. i love the internet - for reading and some research and mylot too... but i can never stand being online just playing games or perhaps accessing facebook! its just pretty useless thing to do. i would rather bore myself in a book than in facebook.

Well, I have to admit that I'm the so-called internet addict, more than 40 hours per week. Yes, it's a serious problem now. What I can do is to drink a lot of water, get some rest, do some stretches at intervals.

Okay I admit I am addicted to my computer. On a working day (that is Monday to Friday) and since I do not have an internet connection at work, I usually spend 3 to 4 hours on the internet when I get home or sometimes before going to work. But on a Saturday and a Sunday, I just spend 30 minutes eating (make that one and a half hour for 3 meals), 30 minutes taking a bath and some minutes answering the call of nature, and at least 5 hours of sleep and the remaining waking hours are spent on the internet. Actually on a Friday night I usually sleep in the early morning around 3 to 4 a.m because I have been watching shows on streaming sites. . I do hope I would not get hospitalized.

If I don't have any commitment for a particular day, I usually stay in front of the computer for a whole day. Just browsing, checking emails and other sites that I have an account. I still don't consider myself to be an internet addict because even if I stay for much longer hours using internet, I still know my priorities and know when to stop. I think for much younger generations it still depends on how they were raised and being disciplined by their guardians or parents in limiting their use of internet.

Hello, people. I am a new user. I would like to say that I am in fact an internet addict. I live with the internet. I breathe with the internet. I hear internet. I see the internet. Usually, I am on the internet 4-5 hours a day, and that just on school days. I spend 8-12 hours on the internet on the weekends.
