Frisky was put down yesterday, Thursday, April 15, 2010 at around 3:15PM. He had been battling Feline Leukemia for a long time now, and it was getting to the point were he was in a lot of pain. I broke down after everything was over. I am still breaking down as I write this. I miss my boy. I miss him so much. He was almost 14 years old. He would have been 14 next week. I know how you feel, it's hard to lose a pet who has shared your life with you for so long. One of my cats is named Felix (which means happy) and he's well named as he is a happy easy going cat. Two of my other cats are both 14 + (not sure of the size of the plus as both were adopted) One of them is on my knee as I type. I'd advise you to consider adopting another cat after a decent interval of time, the new cat won't replace your old cat, but it'll go a long way towards filling the hole he's left.

This morning was not easy for me. I was expecting him to come to my bedside and he never did, and I was looking for him and he wasn't around. It is like he should be here.

so sorry rogue. i know the feeling. when my first cat was taken away by my first mean husband, and carried off i kept wondering if he was all right. i would wake up hearing a scratch at the door i would think, which is what he'd always do when he wanted in at night or in morning. but id run there and no kitty. 3 days later, i had my first child and they said when i was still groggy they told me he was a fat little thing and i said "my kitty was fat to" how sad huh? then had to put down my dog Bear 3 yrs back id had for 6 yrs. i cried for days. dont know what id have done without coco then. she kept looking around to and i realised she also missed him.

I'm SO sorry to hear of your loss. It hurts our hearts so deeply to lose our beloved ones! I have had a double loss since December, and so unexpectedly so. So I know the pain. My condolences... they are such special spirits!

My computer doesn't love flash, so I couldn't really go on that website. Although, thank you for the recommendation.

I am so very very sorry you lost your dear friend. I know how you feel, as if your heart were torn into shreds. I have been very lucky because each of the dear cats who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge has in time sent me another who needed me. Never to replace them, but to love and be loved as they were. In time the good memories you shared will surround you and replace the grief you feel now. It takes time, tons of time.

How long had you let your cat live with this? I had my cat put down right away because I had other cats in the house and couldn't let them get it also. I am sorry for your loss and know how close you had to have been to your cat. May he rest in peace and now he isn't in pain anymore. I hope you feel better soon.

A few weeks, we were told at first by our vet that it was a thyroid condition, but I have never seen a thyroid condition do this to a person. By the time we found out that he had Feline Leukemia which was about three or four weeks ago, we were pretty sure that he had had it for a while then. We gave him antibiotics, because that is what we were told to give him, and we gave him Nutri-Cal, for the same reason as the antibiotics, in the hopes that it would give him at least one more year, but he was too far into the illness. I just couldn't let him live like that anymore.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss hun. I know how hard it is to cope with the loss of a beloved pet, even though you know deep down that he is no longer in pain and not suffering anymore. *hugs*

I am very sorry for your loss. My dog Bandit is 10 and as I see she is getting more gray hair on that beautiful face it makes me worried. I wish animals didn't get old so fast. 14 years is great I know cats can live a lot longer than dogs. Take some comfort in that Frisky Felix is not in any pain. Frisky Felix will be waiting for you when you get to the Golden Gates of Heaven most likely with a mouse in it's mouth. Hopefully showing you they are friends and no longer enemies. I like to think even animals can live in peace. How about I change that to catnip all he can eat. LOL God Bless You And Your Animal Angel Frisky Felix

He loved catnip. He would sniff it and he just loved it. He loved the smell of fresh cut grass too. Frisky was an indoor cat, but I let him out to have fun every now and then because I didn't want him to feel confined to the house.
