Bin Laden Has a Facebook Page
The al Qaeda leader, or someone posing as him, is using the social networking site as a platform to show videos and speeches to Islamic militants.
His address is given as "the mountains of the world."
On Thursday, security experts urged Facebook's U.S. owners to shut down the profile page, named "The leader of the Mujahideen, Osama bin Laden." The profile became active on March 25 and has already attracted nearly 1,000 extremists. Access is via the Taliban's own Facebook presence, according to U.K. publication The Sun.
Although the language used is Arabic, messages in English were beginning to appear.
"Bin Laden, via his supporters, is clearly taunting his pursuers," Internet terror expert and author Neil Doyle said.
Doyle notes on his blog that the site contains numerous images, dozens of video clips of bin Laden and scenes from films issued by terrorist groups worldwide. One shows a group of al-Qaeda fighters undergoing training in Afghanistan, which was produced by the terror network's official media arm As-Sahab Media.

First, I guess I should say that I doubt it's him. In fact, I doubt he's still alive but I could be wrong.
If it is him, it means that the ony way he can taunt us is to use our technology. Much the same as those creeps on 911 used our airplanes because They didn't have their own. Scary and angering as that is, it's also somewhat comforting.
If he is still alive, maybe some smart hacker can track him through his face book account and it will lead to his capture and execution. That would score a big one for the internet.

Yikes! That's kinda scary. I've seen all kinds of crazy things on the internet. I remember all the bizarrre profiles I saw, when I origionally found mySpace all those years ago, but I haven't seen that many of them on Facebook. I guess there is one now. I hope Facebook gets 'em shut down before too long.

Dang - you say it, hey do it!
The al Qaeda leader, or someone posing as him, was using the social-networking site as a platform to show videos and speeches to Islamic militants -- until Facebook shut him down, that is.

That is too wild. This made me laugh. I know it's not a funny matter, but it's a funny story. A farm? Hmm, I'll bet he's growing opium instead of corn. Facebook? I am soo sick of facebook. Whatever happened to the eighties? Gosh, times were so much simpler then...we had Ronnie, the Berlin wall and star wars, not to mention the best music ever.

Can't believe that it is truely bin Laden on facebook. I would be more likely inclined to say that it is the govenment trying to track down extremist here in the US. I think it would be a great idea if it is them to help know where the radical movements are and reduce the risk of future attacks from within.
