Has any of you tried to learn to program in C and how long has it took you to learn it? Do you have favourite books on the subject and do you still refer to them now? Have you tried to write C code for big projects and do you think C programming has future?

Yeah, I have learnt programming in C. It was part of my course. My favorite books is "Schaume Series C" by Balaguruswami and "Let us C" by Yeshwant Kanetkar.

I've just found "Let us C" and wanna say that it's one of the greatest books I've ever seen on that subject. So thank you about the recommendation.

I learned C in about 8 months cause it's a part of our curriculum. I think it's really important to study this language since it's an introduction to other programming languages. A lot of it's syntax is the same to other languages. I won't really recommend it for a big project since C is a text based program, it's better to use an object-oriented programming language, like Java, for a big project. It;s better cause it's more organized for the programmer and more graphical to the user.

Yeah I've learned c++ and c# because it's in our curriculum and these are pre-requisites so I should really learn these.
