Museums are a place of general education. So, with that much said, evryone should get to visit as many as they can. But what about the under-priviledged? What if they don't have the money to go? But I guess the eral question I'm asking is, "Should mueums be free to enter? Why, or why not? And if yes, how will they get money for upkeep, renovations, etc.?"

There are some museums which are free one day per week. That sounds like a good solution, people who can't afford to pay are still able to visit the museum, and the museum still earns money (the rest of the week) The only problem is that some museums get very crowded on the free days, because a lot of people want to visit the museum that day. Aside from that I think that it is a great idea. I know that there are some museums which are always free. I have been to a museum about the second worldwar and that was free, but I am not sure how they get the money for renovations and things like that.

Well many museums in the uk are free to get into, they are I believed supported finacially by local government through of course good old taxes. The problem is many of the better artifacts, sculptures and paintings are worth a lot of money making muesems with this kind of exhibit expensive to run and maintain. Personally i think they should be free with the option to donate to there running but i can also see the problems with getting sufficent funding this way. Also there is nothing stopping private indiviuals or companies setting up muesems with the purpose of making money from it like any other business. Perhaps a way round it would be for local governments to pay for or subside the under priviledged to gain entry to these museums.

it must be freed out from restrictions only if people are disciplined enough. it is intended for educational purposes and it must be cared and use as it was designed. for the sake of maintaining it, the government should put a face on that..
