I personally do not play in sports, but I do know people that do, and I tihnk they should spend a full day in school, and then go to do their sports, and that it shouldn't count as a class for a GRADE. That's insane. How exactly are you supposed to grade someone on tehir physical ability? Plus, I hear kinds all the time saying they have to lose weight, so they haven't ate, or they need to gain, so they've been eating eveything. Their reason? Because the coach said. So, children are supposed to endanger their health for a sport that probably aren't going to be successful in during their later years? Something that they probably aren't going to do prefessionally? They're all destroying themselves for the hope that they'll be the one out of a thousand that will actually do it professionally. But when it isn't them, they get to just realize that they put so much into it, all for nothing... What do you myLotters think?

I have to agree with you on this. . . Sports have become too important in my opinion. As you've pointed out they even allow sports to be counted as a class in school. Now it is about getting fame and fortune and providing entertainment when sports were (I think) just supposed to be something healthy to do. Now, it's not even healthy! Like you said they change their diets for the sport, but not only that, they may have to go out there and get injured because the competition is so fierce.
You're right, many of the people who play sports in school don't end up anywhere important. There can only be so many who play the professional sport and for those who don't make it, they haven't got many choices left.

aside from the contact sports that i have done during yester years, i never played any kind of sports lately. if i were the coach, i won't allow hard headed athletes... i want them to follow all my instructions. otherwise, i will kick them off..

you know if someone really love his/her sports he/she will really spend sometime for it and beside it is his/her decision if he/she choose to have a sport in school and it is just about a budget of time, and besides the coach will not put his/her trainee in bad condition and as a player you represent your school in many event so you become a great asset of the school
