Yeah, I just finished my first 5K of the season. I set a new PR only by two seconds, but it is okay with me. It was raining and cold. The first race I've run in the rain. I guess considering the weather factor it's not too bad for an old lady!

Wow I'm impressed! Congrats on your time. I need to be more active but on my days off I'm pretty much on the computer, cleaning house, watching tv and shopping. Keep it up friend!

syndibee, I know but the computer time earns my extra money and the tv time earns my sanity, lol. Seriously, you're right I do need to be more active.

That is great congrats, job well done. You should feel great about such an accomplishment. The only races I have ever done were in Central Park when our company had a 3 mile race which I finished and did it in 20 minutes. I did probably another two races before that but I don't remember the results.

If you did it in 20 minutes you are way ahead of me!! My goal is a flat 30 minutes. I hope to get there by the end of this year.. we'll see!!

Hello macdingolinger,
Congradulations on your 5K. In the rain no less and you beat your time too. Way to go! It always good to see older people still staying active and having fun. It probably was not easy race compared to others you have done in the pass. Was it local race in your town? what town or state?
Thanks and have a great day

It was in North Oklahoma City, Oklahoma up close to Lake Hefner. I hope to do all the ones here in Oklahoma that I did last year just with better times. I may do one this Saturday, but I would have to run it and leave and get over to TaeKwondo testing by 10:15... not sure yet!

Thanks!! I'm pretty proud... just trying to get to a ten minute mile... almost there at 10:15 but for someone who is half a century old I figure that's not too bad!!
