I'm thinking about starting my own blog or a website, or should I go for some of the websites where you can post your original written work for money. What would you suggest?
Thanks

Hi,
As others have said I'd do both. While you would predominantly work on your own blog it does take time before you see any real returns from it - however those returns will continue to grow as long as you keep your blog online. While you're waiting and building your own blog the other sites are a good way to not only start earning, but more importantly, with sites like squidoo, hubpages and others where you can leave a link they build traffic back to your own site/blog.
For me the problem with using other sites (associated content etc) is you don't always have control over your article, you only get a share of the earnings and depending on the site you submit it to you can't guarantee your article will always be there etc.
So like everything when it comes to earning online, never put all your eggs in the same basket - don't rely on just one thing when you have the opportunity to use a few different income streams.

Hi,
I've added you as a friend so feel free to email if have any questions/want some more information etc but for me one of the best ways to get traffic to my blogs/sites is via article marketing - I write an article related to my site with a link back to my site/blog in the author resource box and submit it to a few of the many free article directories.
Not only does this get me a good link back to my site it also means others can use and in turn link back to my site as well.
I'll send some more information through to you via PM but if there's anything else you need just let me know

Do both. I myself have a personal blog as well as a site where I post things that generate money. I also do sponsored posts/reviews to make extra income. :)

Based on personal experience, I'd recommed posting your material to sites where you can earn money for your content, as well as retain the rights to your content. There are several good sites like this around, but if their was one I'd recommend most it would be HubPages (more details in my profile). I'd still suggest that you start your own blog or site while writing for revenue-sharing sites, but be advised that your earn will likely be slower with that method. But it's still wise to start building because their is nothing like your own sites that you completely own & control. This way, if anything ever happens with those other sites, you can always have your own sites that have been growing strong and steadily all the while. Best Wi$hes!
