I love dogs and have a shih tzu for almost eleven years now. I find cats are just to sneaky and seem to be aloof and most of my family is allergic to them. Not to mention that my mom is terrified of cats. So it would never even be a thought to have a cat for me. Dogs just seem more friendly and will be there for you no matter what. At least I know my dog follows me everywhere I go and if someone tried to do harm to me he would be there to protect me.

Yes, you are right... Cats are too sneaky and more aloof compared to dogs... Dogs are the most loyal to his/her owner compared to cats...Dogs are also most protective than cats... I also have a Shitzu and a Spitz... Once I call their name, they'll be here in a nick of time hehe...They want to be cuddled and loves them to scratch their ears and neck... Whenever I go they follow me and there's a time that when I have to go out to run an errand using the car they are the first to go inside the car... I have a friend who has a cat... if he's calling her name, the cat just stares at him! Dogs has a lot more character than cats... Well, what else could I say???

She has been afraid of cats since she was a little girl. I believe when she was a little girl a cat landed on her face if I'm not mistaken. I will have to get clarification on this. However, she sees a cat and she starts to scream and run away from them. I feel bad because of the fear she has but when you see her reaction to them I have to laugh sometimes. My father has to go through the magazines that she gets and fold the pages of the magazine that has a picture of a cat on it. Its so ridiulous. She doesn't even like us to say the word cat. I have been telling her for years to get help with this but she claims nothing is going to take the fear away. Now at 74 years of age she will end up dying with this fear instead of conquering it.

I think it depends on the cat. There are some VERY sweet loving cats. Why is your mother afraid of cats... I think that might be an interesting story, if your willing to tell.

I love both. I only have dogs right now. When I was preg. with my first son my mom watched my two cats because I was going to be in the hospital and my boyfriend wont clean a litter box and she has kept them. Now that my boys are getting alittle old I would like a cat again...

Is there a reason that you dont like large dogs? I know a lot of people dont like certain kinds of dogs because of an event. I would like to know if you have a reason.
