when you were in college, what was the size of your lecture class? in some universities lecture classes are relatively small (less than 100) while in others there can be anywhere from 300 up. as a student, would you prefer to be in a small class or a large class? if you were the teacher, would you want to handle a small or large class? do you think class size affects how well or poorly a student will do?

Yes. Because based on my own experience, I am not learning if we are so many in one class because some of them are really not listening instead they are just doing their own stuffs so they are annoying me and the other students as well. I am learning more things when the class is only 30+ inside a classroom because the professor can handle all of us. He can teach well and guide us one by one.

i would really prefer to teach a small class like a lecture class of about 40 students. that way i get to learn their names and there is a chance for more interaction between teacher and student. however there are more universities now doing the large class mode because of economics. okay, so the large class accommodates more students per teacher but will the students learn effectively?

That is really the point there. The government is not paying attention to that issue all they want is to save money but the thing is some students really dont learn that much. What will happen to the future if the kind of education is like that?

Yeah, coz the teacher/instructor can't monitor all of us even though our number is about 40~50.. in our class... some would rather eat, chat, play PSP, txt and even call from their cellphones... Effect: Some students can't concentrate on the lesson and even can't hear the teacher aaawwww... specially when someone is snoring hahaha =) "college life"
