how many television stations in your country?

well Im from Romania... and to be honest... there are to many tv stations that are useless... I think over all, there are about 30 ones.

Hi Indah I think we have more than 8 national station let me list it : TVRI RCTI SCTV Indosiars AnTV TPI Trans7 TransTV TV One Metro TV Global TV My favorite is Metro TV and Trans7, they have really good program and no soap opera.

we have 5 terrestrial channels, BBC1 , BBC2, ITV1, CHANNEL 4 and CHANNEL 5. We also have freeview, which is a new installation on digital channels, there must be about 20 or 30 channels, we also have Sky and we can get literally hundreds of channels on that. We have to pay a licience fee for the terrestrial channels and and an extra payment for sky.

In my country of the US there are three. We have NBC, CBS and ABC. Then here locally we also have channels 12 (FOX), 9 (KNIN) and 4 (PBS). They are great entertainment! Channel 4 has alot of great cultural shows and childrens as well. Channel nine and 12 carry Vampire Diaries, Superman's new one and such as that.

In the US, the number of overthe air broadcast stations varies based on where you live. For example in New York City there are 15 major sations: 2(CBS), 4(NBC), 5(Fox), 7(ABC), 9(my-network), 11(CW), 13(PBS), 21(PBS), 25(PBS), 31(ion), 41(spanish), 45(spanish), 52(PBS),55(independent), and 68(spanish). I live 2 hours away and the local stations are 16(ABC), 22(CBS), 28(NBC), 38(CW), 39(PBS), 44(PBS),53(my network), 56(Fox), 64(ion), and 69(independent) which counts both Scranton and Allentown, PA for 11 stations. The change from analog to digital has begun to have an effect as many braodcast stations are transmitting more than one signal. For example 16 also shows the Retro TV Network (old TV shows), 44 broadcasts 3 different signals, 39, has 4 signals. Other parts of the country that are less populated do ot have as many local stations or signals. But then there are also cable and satellite stations.

I'm from Philippines :) if I'm not mistaken we have 7 local existing television stations. We also have several cable stations (just not sure of their count).
