Watermelon with cheese ... or apple with bread and ham!

"Strange" combinations but soooo tasty...atleast for me:D.I like to mix ,for example,patee with peanuts,or potato chips with sour cream,of course watermelon with croissant or just bread.That's all I remember right now,but I got a few more and others to come.

Cheese and watermelon sounds really interesting, but I don't think I'd like it. One strange combination I've tried before was garlic ice cream- it was awfullll. When I put a spoonful of ice cream in my mouth, I expect something cool and sweet, not something as pungent as garlic. w

Watermelon with cheese, never thought of it?! I try before is pineapple with cheese but it serve like pizza. Apple with bread and ham, maybe I will try this first. Duck with orange, that is very new to me! Ice with garlic, is it good for health?, because garlic kill bacteria if your throat pain, just eat it with raw, but with ice???

I wouldn't mix anything with watermelon. The concept of mixing cheese with watermelon is gross. I would possibly mix watermelon with other fruit though. Now that I could handle fine.

I like to try new things, although, I have never thought of eating watermelon with cheese. I am not a huge fan of watermelon, but I do like it with salt. What type of cheese was on the watermelon? I do love apples with melted cheese. I like to go to the melting pot, a fondue restaurant here. Their appetizer course is melted cheese wtih bread, apples and other veggies. At first I thought apples dipped in melted cheese would be weird but I absolutely love it. My son likes to dip his chicken nuggets in carmel sauce, and my daughter likes peanut butter on her bean burritos!

I think those that you mentioned, sounds strange to me but I would like to try. So far, I don't think I have any strange combination in food that I want to try. Last time, durian ice-cream sounds weird but now, it's quite a norm here so I don't think I will be able to find any thing to share for now.

Hi it is definitely weird to eat watermelon together with cheese! Watermelon is sweet and cheese is milky and salty, it is certainly unpleasant for the taste buds I suppose. But as you said, it was actually delicious, which I believe the locals must have think of creative ways to blend them together to create a tasty delicacy. In the oriental, ducks are cooked with chinese herbs which could taste slightly bitter but overall the dish is tasty and fragrant. I'm not sure if you have tried such a dish. We also steam fish littered with tiny cut pieces of fresh garlic which could help to remove the fishy stench. In Hong Kong, the "smelly" fermented bean curd is one of the classic snacks for people on the street. I think I am courageous enough to try weird combination of food but they must be merged in a creative way that helps to enhance the overall flavor and not put people off.

Oh, I must say that this sounds so weird for me. In the past my grandma would put some salt on the watermelon when she ate it. As she said it would be healthier. I think it is already weird. So I can't imagine how it tastes when a watermelon with cheese:) We don't often use the fruits to make the dishes. One of the dish is pineapple with pork, and it tastes well. I think it just needs some time to adjust the new recipes. I love China

wow, I just heard a watermelon can be mixed with cheese, usually I eat bread with cheese. Combination of truly unique and interesting, maybe next time I want to try it.

Depends on people tastes, not all people can accept the combination of sweet and salty, but I like them, i ate watermelon with sheep cheese, and indeed has a special flavor, and i ate steak with sweet sauce, and even has an interesting taste . It would be nice if people would try more in the culinary art, it is difficult to accept that other people may have as good food can to ours, tolerance and courage have a place in culinary too, a few years ago, if someone gave my snails,i decline, only thinking that are snails make me to feel sick, but when i I tried again, are indeed delicious, and we need a bit of courage and open mind to new.

Wow, watermelon with cheese does sound interesting! I've become a lot more brave over the years but still like to order things I know that I'm going to like. A snack that I always enjoyed growing up was green apples with salt on them or apples with cheese. My family has always eaten taco salad with A1 steak sauce in the taco meat and fry sauce on top instead of using sour cream or salsa. When I went to France, I had a salad that had bleu cheese in it and I think it only had vinegar for the salad dressing. I hated it!

My husband thinks I am so weird cause I eat different combination of food from bananas and soy sauce, chocolate cake and hot sauce and all those crazy things I can mix all together when I eat something but watermelon with cheese sounds really strange for me but I might try it. Good thing I have watermelon at home. I'll try that later.
