Would You Write A 500 Words Article For $.80?

I agree with you. Once people start writing for such low prices, they drag the rest of the offers down too. I have a hard time believing that anyone who calls themselves a writer would take this amount. There are so many other options, right now, for a much better rate of payment. The lowest that I have seen or would accept would have to be $2-3, and even that can be improved on with a little surfing of the web.

That is what I am worried about. Once people here in mylot accepts that low pay, it might dictate the price writing tasks are paid here. We do make an effort writing articles and for such low amount I rather go out take a walk or go window shopping than earn .$80 for a hard work. Doing research alone for the topic is not worth $.80 how much more putting these into an article.

Totally agree with you 100 percent. The price is too low for the effort. 500 words article is still 500 words and will always take up some of our time no matter how well verse we are with the topic. I have already written more than 600 articles for different people either web base or other wise. I am just worried that if people are starting to accept this very low amount of pay, soon enough the price for one article would go down and its not good news for writers. We work hard for every article we write and it is just fair to get a decent pay for every work done and $.80 for a 500 words article is not even worth the amount of electricity spent using our computer and internet.

I do agree with you. If writers keep accepting this low paid tasks, we might end up with very low paying articles. I would not want to waste my time for a 500 words article with .80 cents pay. I am usually paid between $4 to $5 for these kinds of article and I guess that is the usual pay for these types of articles.

No, I definitely would not go that low. I do not care if it something that I enjoy talking - or writing - about. Yes, it is very easy to write 500 words when you are really interested in something, however, it still takes time to write a good article. You have to write the article, proofread it to make sure there are no errors and then submit it. This takes time no matter how you look at it and I feel that my time is worth more than 80 cents. I used to have a freelancer job re-writing articles. They paid me $1.50 for each article. I did this for some time before I realized my efforts and time would be much better spent if I wrote my own articles for sites like Associated Content or Reviewstream. Reviewstream pays $2.50 for a well written review. You not only get to say what you want to about a product you have used, but you also get paid well to do it. It usually takes me 3-5 minutes to write a review and get paid $2.50. If I want to write about something I am familiar with or enjoy, I choose to write for Associated Content. I make between $3.00 to $5.00 an article and I can write about whatever I like instead of having to write what someone else asks me to. I have even gotten offers from other sites paying $25.00 an article which really made me happy. I know that I am not an experienced writer - so I feel blessed that I am making this amount of money for my work. Still, I feel that employers are taking advantage of people when they are only willing to pay 80 cents for a 500 word article. As you mentioned, if people keep accepting this low price, freelance writers will never be able to make decent money.

Yes, I hope those asking people to write perfect article, grammatically correct, etc..and paying .50 or .80 cents should think again, would they really be able to get good quality article with the meager amount of money they are offering? Hope mylotters here should also stop accepting tasks paying very low for an article which takes time and idea to work. I guess it is better to answer discussions and enjoy than writing an article worth .80 cents.

It is always nice to be paid while doing what you like. And if writing a 500 words article gives you a worthwhile time and enjoyment, the small pay becomes just an added perks. However, if the topic is something you do not even know or not interested, would you still write for $.80?

Again just like I said in my earlier replies, I also think that .80 is rather a very low pay for a 500 words article. I love writing but I at least I would be paid enough for the effort I made. A 500 words article , I think deserves more than $.80. Just my opinion. But for those who want to accept the pay, it is really up to their decision and willingness.

I agree with you Phyrre. I also wouldn't write a 500 words article for that amount. I am just asking people to see if they would waste their time writing for such a small amount because I have seen lately tasks here in mylot offering $.80 for a 500 words article. I can see that the task disappears quicklly(though not as quick as SharonBucks tasks which offers good pay). This means people are accepting these tasks. Just would like to know how many writers out there would do it for such an amount.

You are right candyfairy21. I too wouldn't take such very low paid writing jobs. No one can come up with quality article with that kind of pay.

However, there are still a lot of those who accept this low pay and I think for them it is probably fair. On my part, I think .80 cents is really low and I would not want to waste my time writing an article for such a low pay.

Thats a normal price any SEO company charges. Ofcourse, most part of it is spent on arrticle distribution. For writing a good article we charge anywhere between $2-$10. Thats quite reasonable. So the articles are not pricy, but distributing them across various sites is costly.

Well good for you Joedollarhuat. You are right, it becomes effortless if you are interested in the topic. Sometimes, the pay do not matter much as long as you like what you are doing. The pay just becomes an added incentive.

Actually you still need to research on the topic. You are not given the data. You have to do it from scratch including research.

80 cents is too little for that. Especially if the topic is too broad or shallow. atleast $2 would suffice
