After she tried to kill herself by jumping in front of a New York City subway train, a woman has been charged with murdering her nine-year-old son.
Police say 27-year-old Olivia Noel smothered her son the day after his birthday after "demons overtook her." She says the boy had been upset because a friend didn't make it to his family birthday dinner.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says Noel became "extremely remorseful" after the slaying at her Brooklyn home and jumped in front of a train.
Police said Noel suffered a broken leg and severed fingers but never lost consciousness. She told officers at the scene, "I did something terrible to my son."

It is said but I think the woman should have gone for some therapy to help her with issues beforehand. Mental illness is very serious and can lead to all sorts of tragedies.
