Do you type or text "lol" or "haha" even though ur not really laughing out loud?

yes,i do type hahaha or hehehe when i feel like smiling for the person i'm chatting to know that i'm smiling or like you said laughing quietly inside.of course when you type hahaha it means you laughed.someone who does it without connection to whatever discussion has began,seems like being crazy.hahaha! i don't like typing lol,it doesn't strike so well. some people nowadays i learned they type ROTFL which means "rolling on the floor laughing".sounds "exaj" (exaggerated) to me...hahaha...

I type lolz most of the time.. When I find it really funny I usually type Hahaha.... I usually type lol when I hear something funny or reply to a friend affirmative..

Well, I guess the text "lol" or "haha" are used by many just to indicate that something is funny and it doesn't really need the person who used it to be laughing or even giggling. In addition, I normally use emoticons such as =) or =( even though I am not really smiling or showing a bad face. I reckon sms and chat language really have a part in our lives to convey emotions. All hail the person genius who first thought of it!

I usually go for the long "hahaha..." and "hehehe..." because it has better effect in making the reader laugh while reading it. Lol won't get that effect. However, I do use LOL when the writing space is limited.

hi jeeyah I do also but I use the emoticons and love to show my feelings that way. if its funny I will one for funny and yes I also type in lol and sometimes he he or ha ha. I like to express how I feel about the circumstances of the discussion. and try to use the proper emoticons to show that.

Usually when I text or type the letter words lol its because I found somthing humorous or because I'm really laughing out loud or at least on the inside, what most people dont know about me is offline, I tend to be really silly and I dont post haha or lol unless I really mean it.

It good also that we express our feelings not just in action but through words too. Smileys are good since you can use it as a short cut to convey how we feel. But writing hahaha is just the same. Just like what we do in the discussions, we are just talking and yet no words come out from out mouth.

yes i do, but i never think about that. well let me guess, maybe most time when i typed haha, it just means "ok""i get it" and some other meaning, maybe i am not laughing loud or inside

your thinking is great jeeyah, to ask this question. really new question to me. It's just a mean to express our laugh here from text. I don't think we would laugh loudly while reading answers..comments..i don;t think it's huge laugh... it's better to write hehe haha then lols... there are mylot codes too....to share feelings...without written. -vine.

Yeah, haha. Sometimes, just out of courtesy. I make it a long "hahahaha" when I really am. ;)

I agree, I always type random "haha's" to lighten the mood and i always love to use smiley faces :] its just a way to let people know you're being friendly over the computer.
