I think we are advancing with science and religion. I think we have the same thoughts that are decorated as if they are new. As for religion and science. Many people forget that science as we know it started with religion. The major Catholic universities were started and science was used to prove the existence of God. Galileo, Copernicus, etc., they were Catholics who fine tuned the scientific method. Many people don't seem to know that Darwin (father of evolutionary theory) was religious. Today, some religious and science people try to make it look like there's a war between the two. Carl Sagan expressed the thought that there might be a God out there, but we just haven proven it. Albert Einstein seemed to believe in a God, but not a personal one like many Christians believe. So the war between religion and science only exists in the minds of people who don't know about the relationship between science and religion.

New thought, as far as i know, refer to a new perspective on things that we believe. A different way to understand something. There are always new thoughts, just look at our history. Davinci was full of these 'new thoughts' and was killed because of them and ther are many others like this as well.

It's time to move on.. Religion is one thing, while science is another thing.. They should not be mixed together in the first place..
WHat created the conflict between the two, are ple, whom wanted facts, and does not want to be outdone by those whom placed their faith in religion, and believing blindly..
And so, science came into the picture, hoping to knock some sense into those ple, whom are following blindly, to what they called 'religion'.. haha =D

I really couldn't say except that many wars have been fought in the name of religion but I can't think of a single war fought in the name of science. That says something, to me, anyway.

In history, indeed ever occurred the war between science and religion. And the war between the both never stopped, until today, because always there a different between them. The Groups of scientists never seen as intellectual by The clerical Groups, but his work is grounded in the empirical world has significantly changed the world as we see today. The Groups of Clerical, always calling itself as a group who is entitled to speak all the particulars about the truth.
This Both groups seemed to never stop for claim that they are entitled to determine the life.

Hmm well now, it is a good question. What are new thoughts? You, like many of us search for innovations, new ideas, and question for new doctrines. I think you wonder about revolutionary ideas and innovations. Many people are afraid of changes hence conflict.

I think that science is great. Thanks to science my grandmother is living to be 90. Thank you science. Thanks to science, I am alive right now. I love science. Science saved my life. I think that people should embrace science. It might be good for them. I think that if people had science in their lives, they might actually live better lives. Where would we all be without science?
As for religion, I think that religion has been ultimate downfall of humanity. Look at how much trouble Christianity and Islam have caused. They were not meant to be so radical, but boy how they have become that. I used to be a Catholic, I am now Agnostic. People are free to practice religion, of course they are, but look at how damaging it really is. Wars were started in the name of religions. Think about that vine88.

I have always tried to be open to new thoughts and ideas. , and so I find the hatred some people direct towards those who disagree with them puzzling. They act as if they believe that people who not share their exact perspective are not just wrong, but evil. I think it is a result of two distinct processes. One is fear. Many have inner doubts about the truth of what they profess to believe. Some, maybe most, do not admit to these doubts even to themselves. When somebody openly expresses the idea that has been lurking in their subconscious, it terrifies them, and they will do almost anything to make that person, and their own inner voice, be quiet. The other issue is power. As long as the witch doctor, priest, pope, imam, ayatollah, or whatever, can make sure that dissenting voices are not heard, he retains his hold on power.
