I Want A New Internet Provider or Service.. :(

I've been thinking for a week now if I need to change my internet provider. And my mind keeps on telling me that I really freaking need to change it soon and have a new internet provider because I'm having a hard time using Globe Tattoo. For those of you whose living in the Philippines, which internet service (Smart, Globe, PLDT mydsl, Suncell) you preferred most? And what plan suited you best? I'm thinking of trying plan 999 from pldt but I want to hear some feedback about it first. If you are not in the Philippines, what type of internet service you preferred? LAN, Wi-Fi, broadband, dsl or any type of it? Hope to hear from you guys!

I'm in the Philippines and I've heard a lot of complaints versus Globe Tattoo and Smart Bro. One friend even told me that he has to look for the signal by mimicking what we usually do when we are looking for signals for our cellphone (imagine it in laptop mode). hehehe I think you really get what you pay for. If you paid for a cheap connection, then don't expect to get full coverage. I'm with PLDT MyDSL but this isn't the usual plan. I think this is the highest for the residential area because 5 of us are using the internet at once. It isn't cheap but at least we get what we paid for.

Ah you don't need to buy a router for that. You can just avail of their Wireless type of modem.

hello laydee, LOL. exactly. Since Globe Tattoo has a 3G and GPRS signals like those of mobile phone, I tend to search for a spot where I could get a good internet signal. Thats the weird and hardest part of using usb modems. I want to try pldt dsl and buy a router perhaps, in that case I will use my laptop anywhere at home. Thanks for your response!

I'm thinking of doing the same thing. The bad thing is that my contract with Smart Broadband will expire in 9 more months. I'm not satisifed with the connection. The service is so slow and I even lose connection at times. I feel frustrated sometimes especially if after creating a long discussion or comment in Mylot my Internet connection will suddenly give me an error message causing all I've composed to be lost. Sigh!

hi ladyslipper, Oh I know that feeling, I had some moments where I almost cry because my connection got interrupted and my long response just disappeared on thin air. Ohhh.. when will come a time where internet service in here will be so fast and affordable. LOL. Wishful thinking.

Have you tried dialup as your backup? Sometimes that is the best way in case your high speed goes out. I cannot speak for the Philippines, not sure which one would be the best. We use Wifi (high speed) to connect to th internet. We also have dial up as a back up in case the internet goes out or Wifi doesn't work correctly. However we prefer Wifi because it's faster and can download videos, and big files faster. Hopefully you get a better connection where you're at. Have you spoken with your neighbors before about their services? Good luck!

hello callarse1, I'm thinking of trying dsl or dialup because most of the people I know liked it a lot. WiFi without a doubt is the fastest.. maybe I'll use some router on my dsl to have a wifi connection. Thanks for sharing!

hi friend. i am not a phillipino, yet i want to share some experiences about internet providers here. we have the fastest provider as bsnl but its cost is huge even its a government sector. so i like to subscribe some private providers. now i am surfing through airtel gprs, although its slow but happy enough. have a nice day.

well i preferred smartbro, im using plan 999 with 512 kbps speed and i use router to convert it into wifi, i don't like globe tattoo its so slow thats why we plan to use Smartbro, if your using the USB Globe Tattoo then change it to Suncellular USB it is faster than the one you are using

hi there, hmm.. I will check on that. I wonder how much does a router costs? Some friends like suncellular though others find their service a bit slow. Thanks for sharing some thoughts on this my friend.

I live in Europe. I have a broadband Internet Account with AOL. Before that I had a broadband Internet Account with Orange. I changed by ringing my Internet service provider and asked them for a migration code. I smoothly moved providers and got a free laptop. I paid a certain amount for 24 months and now I am on a lower fee per month. It includes phone calls but I still have to pay for telephone line rental. Good luck with changing your Internet service provider.

if you may consider SmartBro Plug-It 999 plan. this is the one i am using now. well, this is my first personal broadband. i have experience a lot of downtime with our office's pldt mydsl. i have also talked with some dealers and store attendants, and most of them suggest SmartBro. what i like with this plan is the USB modem which i can use anywhere, where there is computer and good signal.

hi neildc, Oh.. I'm considering SmartBro Plug-It but since I already have a usb modem which is Globe Tattoo, I might go for a dsl. Uhmmm... I'm still checking more details about it. You know what, I have some problem with my usb modem, it is weird because I need to lift it up a little, I mean the usb port doesn't recognize it sometimes. ohhh... gosh! Thanks for the in put my friend.

hi there. i am using Smart Bro and it's so much better than Globe Tattoo. I promise you. You will not regret. I actually have Globe before and it's way too slow to the point that i can't even watch youtube but with Smart Bro i was amazed that i can watch you tube and download with ease. you will not regret it, i promise you :)
