Anti Virus should be the first software to be install in a computer. I think your making a delay in installing the program. My strong advice is to install AVAST because this has daily update in Virus database. I am also using Avast for past 3 years.

I have bad experience with AVG, because of big problems after uninstal of this software. I recommend Avast for FREE users, or Nod 32

Installing two anti-virus softwares on a computer isn't really advisable and it's risky. The tendency is that they will clash. They will detect and assume that the other anti-virus is a virus, so they'll end up attacking each other. I have no idea how it's working on you, maybe the other one is for USB connections. But either way, two anti-virus softwares is risky and can cause system errors.

I can help you with this one. 1) Download KIS 9 from any site.. Download the trial version. 2) Download Trial resetter 3) Every 30 days just reset your trial period. This way You can use the Kaspersky antivirus trial which is as good as the full version and it is free free free..... :D I am personally using this trick... :D

It only resets your program registry... You dont need to rollback any dates... Simple.....

I used to do this as well, got tired of it though, I need a properly configured system time and date, and reformatting or rolling back every 30 days is so time consuming haha. KIS is incredibly good!

I have used Norton, Avast, Avg and now I am using Microsoft Security Essentials which is free and very effective. I like it a lot and to me it is the best antivirus I have ever used. I highly recommend it. Not having an antivirus on your computer is playing with fire, as you can get viruses and not know it. With an antivirus, it will stop them before they can attack your computer. All the other antivirus programs I have ever used, just didn't work as well as Microsoft Security Essentials. Take care, and happy mylotting.

Use ESET NOD 32 Business or Home - it is the best! My PC is safe with that antivirus of mine!

There has been an attempted intrusion into my laptop everyday for the past few days. One of the high risks but failed. I couldn't have done this without my anti virus and the anti spyware from Norton. I've been a victim of twice a successful attack before. And not until I had to change the motherboard twice wouldn't have I learnt. It's worth the purchase. Better safe than sorry...

I've been using AVG Free for quite a while now, and it really offers protection for the casual computer user. :) You can also install it on your browser as a toolbar or plug-in, so you'll be safe while browsing. However, no matter how strong an anti-virus is, if the user is careless, viruses will still get to your computer. So get an anti-virus like AVG, and make sure you also avoid suspicious sites. This way, you can really make sure that your computer is protected :)

I think the best free anti virus out there is avg. It's being used by a lot of computer users worldwide. It's efficient in detection of viruses. Of course, the paid antivirus softwares out there might perform better. But avg is the best among the free ones.

free and strong is something you wont find in an antivirus. avast is a good option but the problem wit the free antivirus is that the virus definition is not updated periodically as it have to. so if there is a bad zero day virus like the old blaster you will definitely be more vulnerable than someone with a paid anti virus. if you want to save money then why not try something like karspesky that is quiet good and only cost like 10 dollars.

I suggest Avira AntiVir..I use it in my desktop, laptop, and in my internet cafe..Never had a problem with it..It's good in detecting and deleting most destructive viruses..One more thing that's good about it is that it doesn't consume up much RAM which can slow the performance of a computer..Just remember to update it frequently for greater effectiveness.. I also use "Smart Virus Remover" as a side tool..It's quite effective in dealing with autorun viruses in flash drives..

I am agree with bemsky. Avast is good. Even you have 128 ram it works and it will not slow down your pc. The other antivirus program requires higher ram. Other antivirus requires 512 ram. I have already used so many antivirus, only Avast give me good performance in my pc.

I have used Avira antivir for a couple of years and is so good, takes little system resources and detect so well the viruses, I think is one of the best free antivirus by now. His interface is fast and easy to use and understand. In joint with other softwares for security is so good, I didn't have a virus problem for years with my security package. I like Avast too, is another good freeware.
