Hello,
Thanks for the discussion. Here in America those kind of calls can be stopped with use of the DO NOT CALL website which registers your number and due to our laws in the states, they cannot call you after you register. It would be nice if all countries had the same law and the scammers would be defeated.
They get your phone number many ways and sometimes your associates sell them their friends numbers. One of the other ways, is a random telephone number generator which is usually a computer program. The scammer just sets it on their phone and it generates numbers for certain areas of the world or a country and then they send you the message electronically.
Before the law and even now when people don't know they need to register their mobile phone as well as home phone, telemarketers would be more than happy to use up your expensive mobile minutes for you or get you to do it by calling them back. I'm grateful we have the law here that stops them.

yes, the law which you have mentioned, is also in implementation in our country. but there isn't awareness about the service in the public.

LOL that is really an original one. It was going round on email and now it has spread to mobile as well...i am yet to receive one so far.But the email ones were great. The way it was worded and everything about it looked so fake and yet many people fell for it and lost a good deal of their money...Hopefully by now people would have become wiser...
