In this day of multi-TV networks and a lack of originality for movies, we keep seeing re-makes or spin offs. Here comes another. Law and Order: Los Angeles. Do you think this is a good thing and will you ty watching?

I have thoroughly enjoyed every Law & Order series and I'm sure I'll enjoy this new incarnation, as well. Even if every episode isn't as riveting and as charged up as one would like, you still have to give the shows credit for being almost always decent. I'm sure there are those out there that will disagree, but as for me, I'll be watching any spin off that they can come up with and I'll be watching all the reruns on late night, too!

So far all the Law and Orders havebeen successful with one exception. There was one show that was a reality show in that it followed actual courtroom cases. That lasted less than a year and I don't know if it was shown outside the US.

NO NO NO BTW way technically there is an original however this may be defined by how you define stars I always felt NYC was the true "Star" of the show and would the directors still be a ble to obtain the same calliber of guest stars and the supporting players for each episode? Many of NYC's stage actors had parts Just look at a PlayBill from any show and notice how many of the actors/actresses have L&O guest spots listed

I hadn't heard there was another Law and Order coming on. I don't know if having another spin off of this show is a good idea. It has been around for so long, it seems to me people would be losing interest in it. I wonder who the stars are on the show. If they have some bigger name stars it might have a chance to make it. Depending when it is on I'll try to watch it.

I haven't heard who the stars are altough they will be different from the other shows. The original Law and order no longer has any of the original stars on it. Stephen Hill (Adam Schiff) was the last original. Epatha Merkelson (Lt. Van Buren) came on the second year. She should be close to the record for playing the same character for a number of years, (Kelsey Grammar as Frasier, and James Arnes as Matt Dillon), however, she will be leaving next season. I'm guessing Van Buren will succomb to cancer. Merkelson has done 386 episodes of the show, the most of anybody. (Dan Florek, the original Lt. left there and eventually went to SVU.) I think Law and Order" LA says more about the state of NBC than anything else. The Jay Leno experiment failed and now they have to come up with "original" programming. I found out about the LA version when I was trying to find out about the new Rockford Files and Hawaii 5-0.

What if they have a big star as a regular? The original L & O is starting it's 21st year and they hope to boost ratings by having Sharon Stone as a guest star. I just heard that SVU's budget has been approved so I think their whole cast will be back.
