I said that for a prayer. Your disease is a false and your medicine are also false.

hi vine wonder if this one line discussion that mocks and is really hard to understand or to respond to will get deleted? it really should as it is just going to get us who respond mocked at. What the heck is a false disease and a false prayer any way. you make little sense here friend I have never just used prayer when me or my son were ill, doctors and medicines do much better, any way God helps him who helps himeself, this is so true you can pray for help; but first you must make the effort.

Hi Hatley, I totally agree with you. In the bible it says "Ask and you shall recive", "Seek and you shall find", "Knock and it shall be opened to you". The lord does not want to serve things in a platter for anyone. Even the saints had to work hard to become a saint. They were not born a saint. I personally treat prayer as a conversation with the lord asking to strenghten me in what ever i do. God is surely a very important part in my life but i dont treat him as a gene who will give you things without you working for it. You need to do your bit of the job. Larry Nicholas

I can't figure out what you are trying to say here. Maybe it is a language barrier, I don't know. I am often puzzled by your posts. Are you saying prayer is false or useless? How do you know this? I am not a religious person at all, but I believe in the power of the mind. I believe that you can think yourself ill and you can think yourself better (to some extent depending upon your illness). If you have faith in yourself and you put your mind to it, you can do most anything. Is this prayer? I'm not sure, but it could be in a sense.

Hi vine88 in my religion, prayer is a vow for oneself to take responsibility for our lives. It means setting goal for oneself and then taking actions to achieve them.

YEah, i do agree upon that though.. haha =D Prayers are just a false hope of security to oneself in order to make them feel better, when it's actually nothing in the first place, or rather, it's the medication which is taking effects.. THose whom placed their faith in prayers rather than medication, are placing their life at risk.. IF faith is able to heal them, then why make god make them go thru these form of suffering in the first place??

You are entitled to your own opinion and that is fine. However, I was brought up in a family that was a strong Christian family and we were highly involved in prayer. I learned early in my life that the power of prayer is very strong. And, I don't really think that there is anything that you can say that is going to change my beliefs. I just hope that when it comes to this issue that we are able to agree to disagree on our opinion.

it is usually possible for anything to happen if u take the time and effort to work on ur needs. it can be hard to do at times but some lessons r learned pretty easily.

Actually, prayer can be effective in treating a disease if the person with the disease believes in the power of prayer. That does not mean it is a cure all by itself. The mind is a strange and wonderful thing. You can end up with a disease simply be believing that you have that disease. Some hypochondriacs can actually manifest symptoms strong enough to make scientific tests concur with their belief in their illness. People with a real disease that are told they have 2 months to live; but, then get a second opinion that tells them they could live much longer sometimes do start to get better and respond better to the medical treatments they are being given, simply because their mind beliefs they now have hope. People who are dying but refuse to die until a loved one can make it to their bedside; die immediately after they have a chnace to talk to that person. They have stayed alive through pure mind power and refusing to die until certain conditions are met. If a sick person knows they are being prayed for and believes in the power of that prayer; it can make a difference in their recovery or lack of recovery. However, it is not a full cure, medical assistance is still needed.

I have to disagree-again-this is my take on it...my experience...my opinion. I've heard that prayers can actually help heal a disease..It's all in the mind-if you truly believe-there is no greater medicine.

If you make a habit of sincere prayer, your life will be profoundly changed. Prayer stamps with an indelible mark our actions and demeanor. Too many people regard prayer as a formalized routine of word, a refuge for the weak or a childish petition for material things. We sadly undervalue prayer when we think of it in these terms. Prayer is a mature activity indispensable to the fullest development of personality - the ultimate integration of man's highest faculties.
