Have you ever tried to know yourself? Why are you here?
I know there is answer in all religion. There are lots of readymade answers in religion.
Do you have any personal experience about this?
When you came here in Earth you have no name/religion/no cast....
Before you came here where are you? If you believe in heaven or hell then you must be from there?
Or you don't believe in mind/soul? There is nothing as such.
When you die , where do you go?
These are really hard questions?
Personal i don't have answers of those questions. I don't know anything.
I don't know who i am.
If you know something then love to hear from you.

I know God created me by my parents. I was created because i have something to do with my purpose on EArth. Being created by God our purpose is to spread the works and words of God and Jesus. But God gave us free will if we want to do it for him or not. My name was given by my parents. However, I do not know where I will be going when I die. There are heaven and hell but I have been there.

Hi vine, I know nothing about who I am actually. I just know, I'm the daughter of my parents. I have my beloved siblings as well. After I married I'm somebody's wife. And later on I have become a kid's mother. And I'm one of your friends here currently to answer this fantastic question
Yeah, all of us come to this world stark-naked, and we will leave with empty handed for sure. And we are like passers who are allowed to stay here for certain decades of years. It depends on how long the residence permit we own. And we don't know the allowed time of it totally. We can see different people have their respective residence permit. And no one knows when is the right time to leave for another.... Is it optimistic people who always take good care of their health could spend much longer time in this planet....
Have a nice day

Thanks for your words,ikbooi,
They have great feelings. I'd like to called you a religious person. I religious person is not that you belong to any religion.
I would like to call a religious person who are interested in life and themselves.
We have sense, so we have to talk and think about our life...
it's a human, who can think about themselves...

vine I am not going to fight with you, if I am tense it is because I have to live in a place where I do not want to be, because we were homeless, would not that make you tense too, I know its much betterr for me to be here in this retirement center than homeless and walking the streets, but I find it hard to be a lady of leisure with all these people waiting on me when all my lot til now I have taken very good care of myself, at 83 I am still able to cook a nd do all the necessary things we all do to care for ourselves. vine you take care too.I do know really who I am, a child of God and a daughter of my parents.

I don't know when i have added you, but you are always active in answering me and everyone else. I see you answering in others post too. I read your mind there also. By feelings we are more near, we know each other...
Somewhere you said you have stayed with your son, now you said you are somewhere..ya you are enjoying life at the age of 83 too..really great..i don't know i will live till that age. I don't think i will alive at that age.
we do have own belief, own lifestyle, so we have to walk our own way...
ya there are many Atheist around the world, just like me..there are many mad, crazy peoples around the world. People called me atheist, but i am not that..
so it's just to beware of mad and crazy peoples.. you don't have to worry about them...
You have to live your life very happily. Believe in God. THere is nothing wrong in you...
You really make me go like this,(deep feelings)

This is a question that many people have been asking over thousands of years. In Zen we recognize the Self as empty. That space where experience takes place. When the mind is stilled during zazen (Zen meditation) this can be realized. It is a space called "no mind" because Self is not the mind or body that contains emotions and feelings, Self is where the mind and body manifests. When we die, we return to the space of no-mind and from there, we may or may not be born into another life. Nobody can know this for certain though, as memories of a past life, comes from the mind and mind has been known to tell lies! Enjoy the moment of now for that is all there is! _Derek

Thanks Derek,
Ya Buddha was also strikes by this question at his time. And he got the answer.
I have heard, the word zen, comes from the word Dhyan(meditation). And those who follow zen becomes zen Buddhist. Anyway root is the Buddhism, the teachings of Buddha.(Peace man)
In the time of Buddha, there is not science, so he said self is empty. Because we can't see it. Now science had discover many gases..you can called simply air..you can not see air you can feel it.
Ya it's a no mind state. state of being no mind. Where mind cease. The cessation of mind.
Dhany(meditation) is also a state of no mind. it's similar to that of you stated WHEN WE DIE, WE RETURN TO THE SPACE OF NO-MIND...
Derak, i have heard about zen garden, but i don't know much more..how they discover that garden?
any way thanks for being with me. Get connected from internet.

In life we are constantly learning and growing in fact I believe we never stop learning we keep learn about ourselves and life until the day we leave this earth.
You ask if I no who I'm well here's my answer I still have a lot to learn but for the most part YES I know myself and who I am quite well, in fact I know a lot about my personal history dating far back and about my inner workings such as my likes and dislikes and other things and I have a strong sense of self and my spirituality.

If you know yourself. Then tell me something about when you are in the age 2. or 3.
Do you remember anything when you are at that age?
You know yourself then tell me WHO ARE YOU?
you might said , you are a human, girl, your name,.... and so on.
That are all names..

My answer is-
I DO NOT KNOW
but I am eager to find out that and is already on the way to find out that.
I am out to find out who I am because I do not know that.
I don't think I will find that through religious texts.
I do not want to be dishonest to MYSELF.
I have learned many things about these, but I prefer to experience the Truth Myself, NOT through an agent.
I know I Am Deathless, but I Do Not Know how Deathlessness is like.
If it is not my experience, then it NOT My Truth.
Gautam Budha said-
Believe nothing ! Belief is a confession of ignorance ! Therefore do not even believe what even I tell you ! All I can do is to teach you to enlighten yourselves. Your first duty is to abolish your ignorance, and only you yourselves can do this.

I said 'I do not know' for the simple reason that I can accept only that which I experienced. Not something that has been said by the seers who proclaimed their personal experience. it must be true. but my truth cannot be based on another person's truth. if i blindly accept another's view, then i am deceiving myself.
i know what you mentioned here is perfectly true and makes sense to those who know about it. and i am one of those. i too would have answered the same way as you did. i know by accepting 'I do not know', i am only entering a jungle filled with wild creatures about whom i do not know and willing to take the risk of knowing them first hand as the ancient seers did. it is because they did not know it in the first place they enquired IT. that is why they encountered IT. merely getting rid of the though 'I have not realized' is not enough. philosopher indulge in such luxuries. their main source is generally from books, from another person. But Certainly NOT from his personal experience.

I really got the true answer. Everyone say in my discussion " i know myself", but they can't define, who they are.
self...what is self?..no one knows...soul..itself a word. IS that air?... so i'd to say it's all unknownability of existence. No one knows, i believe.
I have another similar,
Gautama The Buddha said,
Believe nothing because....
1. A wise man said it
2. The belief is generally held
3. It is written in ancient books
4. it is said to be divine origin
5. Some one else believes it.
But believe only that you yourself judge to be true.

If you are referring to getting to know oneself in a deeper way, yes I do know who I am and what I want. It has taken years to make the discoveries about my authentic self. It is part of growing and accepting yourself warts and all. Getting older helps, it is a matter of spending a lot of time with yourself without outside influence. As far as to where I was before I was born and where I am likely to go...Your guess is as good as mine...

I do believe in heaven and in hell and I believe that it will be to one of those places that my soul will go after my time on earth is finished. However, I don't know where I came from because I don't believe that a soul can be pulled from either of those two places to have to endure life on this earth.
What I also know is that the person that I have become in the years that I've been alive was not predetermined. I think that our lives follow the course that they follow as a result of the decisions that we make in the duration of our lives based on the choices that me make throughout our lives.

All I know is that like some great philosopher once said, "I think, therefore, I am." I'm happy to be here. I, you, everyone had a name before we got here. Our names floated around until Mom (or Dad) placed the name on us. We might have come from Heaven, but definitely not from Hell. Even Satan came from Heaven because he was created by God, was God's right hand man before he (Satan) let pride get to him. Hell is a place where there is an absence of God. Who am I? Only God knows.

I know myself better than anyone else. I know that I am a daughter, a sister, a niece, a mother, and an aunt.
Do I know everything about myself? NO. I am always learning new things about myself. In the past year, while going through the turmoil of my marriage ending, I have learned that I am stronger than what I had thought. I have realized that when I need to I will stand up for myself and my children.
I believe in God. So before I was born I know I was in the pre-existence waitihng for my turn to come down to earth.

What you really are is not much described by religion. But when it comes to belief, create what you are according to what you want and acording to the good; and stick to it. You don't have to question your faith! "According to your faith, be it unto you" (Wow, I remembered something during my highschool religion class, lol). I think we don't need to depend on names of gods or religions or myths. We must know God not only in terms of names.

I think I know who am I ,such as i know i am cheerful, naughty ,and helpless . but not all the time .It is sense as the old saying ,the others always more conscious than the one who really play a important role in the matter .i don't know why ,but it is always true.when i am dealing with one event ,i can't judge quickly as others .

Yes and I believe I am who I am not because of the people dictating me to how I should be but I am who I am because I stood for what I believe in and established my own identity.
