Sometimes we have to make little sacrifices in our life to make things better for us and for our loved one. However, there are times that we have to make a big sacrifice. The biggest sacrifice so far that I have made (both me and my husband) for our children's future is for the two of us to be separated in this critical moments in our life due to our jobs.
My husband is a Trainer and our company opened a new site in one of the cities here in our country. He was sent to the new site to help set it up and train the new employees. I'm currently a Supervisor in our company and is handling a big Team. My company wants to send me to the new Site as they also need one tenured and well- experienced Supervisor. However, I'm currently 6 months pregnant and have a 6 months old son. So me and my son were left just with a hired helper at home.
My husband would express how much he misses me and our son that he wants to go home already whenever we talk over the phone. Our son will have his baptismal this coming May 7 and my husband is still in the process of asking permission from the Managers to allow him to have at least 4 days leave so that he can attend the baptismal. We will be shouldering the fare of course. Aside from that he is also in the process if asking for a Paternal Leave because I'll be giving birth this August to our second child. He has to stay in the new site for 6 months. Only after 6 months he can go back here.
It's so sad but we really can't have everything. We both have a good job and a promising career with our company. We know that we will all be able to give our children a good future with the kind of job that we have and with our current company. So even if we have to make a big sacrifice such as this one we have to stay. :(

That's hard. Just thinking of giving up my job for that reason would really be a big sacrifice for me. That's why I agree with you that it's really a one big sacrifice you made there. However, if everything turns out right then the sacrifice is worht it. :)
