hi friends.
[b]when there is too much money involved, then there is always trouble.
so IPL attracts more money, white, red and BLACK and trouble bounds to knock on the door in the name of income tax officials or CBI which is what exactly happened.
to make things short, some politicians forced the franchises to give those sweat deals ,then accusation of betting and all that stuffs landed modi into trouble considering his relatives have stakes in punjab, rajasthan and bangalore team.
so news is that he may be fired very soon and the bcci head, shashank manohar might become the chairman of IPL.
as i said before,i respect modi as a man with good business mind and hate him for making cricket a business.
haroon lorgat said once that the T20 world cup in england attracted very few crowds but the IPL in south africa attracted more crowds .all credit to modi.
so modi will be out and some guy will become chairman
but does he have what it takes to sustain this tournament year after year?[b]

i belive that ipl will survive even without lalit modi.
because its the indian cricket fans who made the ipl abig success.
and you pointed out that t20WC in SA didnt have much crowd as that of the ipl had in SA, its because indians are so crazy in cricket.
even if you remove modi from the position of chairman, the fan support from every team will stay intact. do you think that any teams fan suport will decrease? never.
as long the public support is there any thing can be routed to a big success.
and modi managed the ipl very well, the boom in the start was necessary and it was given by modi very well, so now it will be a very easy task for the new one to manage the ipl to a big success.
and as far as black money is concerned, every single team in this ipl(owners) approached it in a business manner.
and nwow its more a business for the owners of the team, they need profit and they get it easily from cricket, because india is addict to cricket.
Indian Premier League has now becom Indian Political League.
not only tharoor many politicians in the oposition, and the ruling party are involved in it, so it will not be monitered. this income tax problem and all other black money issues and modi's part in rajasthan team everything will be vanished when new issue comes.
you see that tharooor resigned his minister post same way modi will also resign his post in ipl, and this issue will be forgoten when new one arrives.and ipl will stay for long even without modi, thats sure.

you are absolutely right, the issue will be forgotten soon after the resignation of Tharoor and Modi and Ipl will stay forever. Lalit Modi commercialized create with IPL and now slowly I think betting will be legalized here in India as well, cricket is heading towards the wrong direction and once I was a die heart cricket fan but now I am loosing interest all because of the IPL.

I havent at all lost interest in cricket. I absolutely love cricket and IPL. Rather I would say with the coming of IPL I got interested in a larger way in cricket. People like you hated the one day format when it first began saying it is bad for cricket. I dont see any damage done by the 50 over game format. So people will be cynical for this game but it is here to stay.

No doubts at all that Lalit Modi brought forth a phenomenon called IPL in a wonderful form and made millions revel in entertainment of high quality. Well there could also be another side to this success story which a common spectator has no way connected with. But the Indian media and the political Governace is capable of making a mountain out of a mole and bring down any person to the dust should it want its interests are protected.
It is said that the World will not stop moving because somebody out there is not involved.
But it is not the same IPL anymore without Lalit Modi.

I will survive but it wont be that much popular and cash studded i think. Its popularity will go down and down if Modi exit from IPL.But i dont think so Modi is going to exit form IPL.If you see his history then this man has got guts and he has survived many controversies before also.He is going to survive this controversy as well.I am pretty sure about it.

I wish Modi wouldnt be made to go. He should not go. I dont think IPL will survive without Modi and that too in the hands of the government. The money will not go back into the game. At least with Modi the scenario is better.
Fine there is black money. Which business does not have black money. Which business transactions are all over the board. Then that way all our politions and bearaucrats need to resign and lose our entire police force.
Fine there is betting, but then in which game there is no betting. People were betting over the marraige of Sania and Shoaib.
Modi's relatives having cuts in the teams. They can be told to give it up, if it so important that they not own anything. Why does Modi have to resign for it.
And after all this, the money is being put in for construction of new stadiums. More people will feel like taking to cricket as a full time career. Which is good from the point of view of economic meltdown and unemployment in our country. So many people get jobs due to this, so many get business due to this.
No Modi should not go because IPL will not be the same without him or at least a person of his caliber is needed. Not the politician. Because if it goes into their hands then it will become like the public sector sick companies, having problems of regionalism and reservations which pull down our public sector and hound the National team too.

i think this is not very easy to be so successful for the event as this is in its present state.
as that man has a passion about this. it was his dream and he did every thing to make this come true.
i think with out his presence no body will be able to run on the same pace.

well the IPL can definitely survive without lalit modi, the IPL is not the private property of mr modi but yes the success of the next season which is going to be held without him is definitely going to be scanned from the eyes of doubt and confusion. The one of the main reason behind it is that the commitment and the passion lalit modi have towards his work and cricket is not been seen yet in any other BCCI officials.
