Who should choose the location or venue of the date?

I'm just wondering, who do you think should choose the location or the venue of the date?
Is it the guy's decision - since he's inviting her in the first place? or is it her decision since it's him who wants to take her out?

For me, whoever asked who, s/he should be the one responsible to think of the venue. But of course, it would be better if they'll both agree. Well, since the guy's the one who did the inviting, he should have already a plan for the date then he could ask if it'll be fine with his date. :)

Indeed, when the guy asks the guy should choose, and when the girl asks the girl should choose, and if the girl says take me to dinner, maybe the guy can say, "Where, MacDonalds?" and make sure he as a nicer place actually in mind, for the protest.
I personally, have always chosen when I asked out a girl.

if it's the first date then i would let the guy choose the place for the date because his choice of place will somehow reveal his personality. i am not really the picky type when it comes to venue so it's not a big deal as long as the place is decent then that's fine with me.

I'm the guy so i wanna be the one to choose. Although there are times that i wanna be surprised so sometimes i let the girl choose. Besides, i wanna know what places she likes or wants to hang out at. It doesn't have to be all me that's choosing where.
