People really amaze me. I do not know who I blame more the uncle for being so stupid, or the parents of the child(ren). I mean the relative should have known this man has a drinking problem and leaving their child in his custody is irresponsible. The friends family not of known, but then why are you leaving or letting your child be with someone you do not know? The child should of just said, no and his friend should of done the same. Glad to hear no one was hurt physically. Would you let anyone watch your children or a relative that has a drinking problem or other problems? http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/articles/2010/04/19/20100419drunk-man-lets-boy-drive.html

Leaving the kid with a person that has drinking problems is the root of this problem. They should've left the kid with someone else. Well, if they really didn't have a choice then i'd blame the uncle. We all have certain control over ourselves if we're drunk and he should've used that to think clearly.

This is so common that I guess people do not think this will happen to them or something. It is crazy, what would they think if these kids were injured? Do ground rules have to be set so adults can follow them? Whatever happened to logical thinking, oh, that is right, there is none in this family. Well at least now the uncle should be out of the picture for awhile and the kids are safe for the time being. Thanks for responding. Stories like these get me going when stupidity is involved.

newtalent I would blame then both, the parents of the boy, and the Drunken Uncle. I would never have let my son when he was young be with any relative who drank. YOu have no idea what that drunk could do or cause to happen to ones own childr. No my kids were never allowed to be watched by anyone whom I did not really know very well.

Hi Hatley, How are doing today? This must be the fourth story i read about a youngster driving a car. What is going on? Who in their right mind, or lack of, would encourage a child to drive a car for any reason? A person that drinks makes a child think this behavior is okay. Adult need to set good examples not bad ones that give children the wrong impression of what is right or wrong. it is only wrong if you get caught. This story really has bothered me a lot. Thank God these children were okay through the whole ordeal.

Well, honestly, the uncle isn't the only one that should have charges pressed against him. I think that they parents should as well for having left the children with a person that has a drinking problem. Regardless of this fact though, it really is a blessing that no one was hurt in the accident because this could have easily ended up being a situation where one or all three of the people in the truck could have been hurt or even worse killed.
