You don't even have to wish for it

I have wished for many things in my life: success, good life... even those very specific and simple ones that fulfill a day's need or want. I have wished harder for answers to big troubles such as debts, relationships, and life-and-death situations.
Now, I am learning to change this wishing habit. Why? Not because somebody told me, hey, you have to work for whatever you need, not wish for it, it won't happen. I just realized that Christianity, or any religion for that matter, teaches us to trust in God, or the creator of the universe.
We just have to trust that things will be fine, that we will get what we need and what we want at the right moment. We have to entrust this day to Him, and nothing wrong or bad will ever happen.
When you are about to make a wish to God, give thanks instead as you talk (pray) to Him. This will develop the habit of trusting God, and you will be surprised at how this will make your life a little better each day, like each secret wish is being fulfilled without even asking for it.
