Does Murali Vijay selection has to do with him being representing CSK.. of which chief Selector is mentor of. May be not, but still the questions will be raised over his selection and valid one's, as a chief selector Srikkanth should not be representing any teams no matter its only IPl team, as we have seen performance in IPl has also been a selection criteria. He should either be chief Selector or be happy being full time Mentor for CSK. He should give away, or can say be made to give away either one of the posts by BCCI.

Dude, I think you have got it wrong. Viru is in poor form and he is replaced by a player who is well in form. With the entry of Chikka as a selector, South Indians have got some playing chance in the National Team. Before it totally used to be the dominance of Delhi and Mumbaikaars. Do not drag in CSK and all other things for this. It is just a common logic - swapping a useless one with a good one.

He is out cos of injury.. not dropped he is ruled out. By the way he is vice captian of side.. and his form has not been that bad in IPl too. And Srikkanth being national slector don't have any right to take sides.. Utthapa would have been better replacement. And its not after the selection of Murali Vijay.. whats wrong is wrong, national chief selector being partial would be the last thing Indian cricket needs. Have discussed it before, http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2278133.aspx Murali Vijay was not selected then but now he is..

ya i thin Uthappa should have been given the chance instead of vijay.
its the cheif selector Kris srikant who picked the player from his state and may be dhoni too would have supported the choice because he plays fro CSK.

Yes, I do agree that Chief Selector for Indian team shouldn't represent any regional team.
But it is open secret that most selectors go for Zonal selection rather than just merit.
Saying that, Vijay do possess the talent. They were looking for an opener and they might have thought Vijay is more opt for that role. And Dhoni being playing alongside Vijay might also be the reason that Dhoni is having faith in Vijay.
At last, what matters is how the player performs. So let us hope Vijay will perform well at T20 world cup and help India.
But I am not too hopeful about India winning the cup as they lack experienced and flamboyant opening pair and their bowling is weaker as they go for more than 8 runs per over.
Happy Mylotting!
