Does anyone know name of this virus that gives endless alerts?

It seems my boyfriend and I had the same virus on our laptops. But we just don't know the name of this virus. I got mine yesterday when I clicked on a link at a certain website. There were too many alerts my windows 7 security system was giving me. But the funniest thing is that I never bought the full security system from Microsoft. So I will say the virus was pretending to be it. The warnings were "Danger, your pc is infected", "a person is trying to gain access to your pc", download digital protection system now", etc. Does anyone know which virus it was? I removed mine. So I forgot.

Sounds like AntiVirus 7.
There are various ways of removing this virus. Yhs include making a manual deletion of all files associated with it. Last week my spuse's laptop was infected with it. The creator wanted money. The constant interruptions means that it was a blackmail attempt.
I used Task Manager and did a manual search and deletion after finding outthe names of the files the virus installed.

I used the malwarebytes to remove it. Before Windows did not even let me go online, but now things are totally fine.
