Before joining facebook, i belonged to myspace(still do) and asked my family members and friends to join me there many times. my daughter (oldest) always said she worked to much on computer at work and so didnt care to, as other members family also used that excuse. so i was total blown away when i got an invite from her to join
facebook. well i havent been able to do much of anything on there. its so much more confusing then myspace or here.
anyway, every time someone comments or something and im forced to go, i find tons of stupid games ive been invited to and have to go through and ignore. since once i tried yoville and nothing worked worth a darn for me. last night i tried to pass on a balloon for pyewacket and still never got a confirm, so dont know if that worked either. so, I HATE facebook. how about you? do you have trouble with stupid stuff on there?

I enjoy facebook, but don't get involved with any of the groups or games there. I've mostly just used it as a message board to keep in touch with family and friends. So many people have different email addresses, it's been a uniting factor to meet friends there.

Sometimes those who hate facebook have less friends and very tired and elderly folks that they would find facebook as boring since they could not catch up with the latest trends. The site is mostly frequented by youngsters and those young at hearts. I seen a lot of my friends not just in games they have varying ages and yet they enjoy interaction and that is why it is called social networking to learn to socialize and have fun with friendly people.

I have facebook and myspace, I like both. I don't ever play the games on facebook, from what my youngest told me, it's like you have to do it everyday to 'keep' up with your little farm or whatever. No thanks. I have it to stay in touch with family and friends, and it's great that we can share pics there as well. For all the invites to use different apps, I just ignore them.

I think the one good thing about facebook is that I can see what my friends are up to by reading their status on my home page. In a way like that I get notifications through my email telling me that I have a new message or whatever the case may be. What I don't like about facebook is that they keep changing it and the pointless games on there which are a waste of time and all you see on your home page are your friends planting or building things on it. I do like status shuffle though.
Have a nice day!

Hello my friend and what an adorable avatar you have, that is so cute! Anyway months back I decided to delete my Facebook account, I found it very intrusive and also I was getting plagued and harrassed constantly, I just didn't need that kind of hassle, the internet for me is a lifeline sometimes to the outside world as I prefer to remain isolated that is the way I cope, and social networking sites just don't do it for me, even Yuwie and other sites I closed down because I found them a chore, found them open to abuse and they are ways for people to constantly harrass others. You also get a lot of spam too. I use Pogo for playing games which are fun and it's a much safer community and for me it serves my purposes, besides I am not one for chatting anyhow and I tend to stay out of chat rooms or don't participate. I love the games there. A lot of people have asked me if I am on Facebook and for me it's just not an option, it doesn't work for me, end of...

I'm with you. I can't make head nor tail of it, I don't like how you contact others and I don't like the games. I've tried to find people but because it's an American site it's really geared for Americans rather than people from other countries.
I belonged to a group of people on another site. We had been together for years then this obnoxious person joined our group and spoiled it. Some people couldn't stand her but the leaders showed her favouritism at every turn, making yet others despise her even more. People stopped coming to the board and it was discovered they had all joined FB and were meeting over there. I was invited to join too but I said it was not for me. I've now lost touch with most of those so called friends as they have not responded to the emails I send out.....oh, it was fine at first, but slowly, our contact became less and now I don't hear back from them at all.
One thing you can do on FB and pretty well get away with it is ignore an individual.

That's great Bunny, I envy you.
My experiences that I described make me very dubious of on-line friendships I'm afraid. Everyone who has ever claimed everlasting friendship has disappeared from my life with not another word...not just one or two people but several. I keep to myself because when the chips are down, that's exactly where I am, by myself.

hi bunny and mstickle hows this I joined a diabetic forum and was enjoying responding to other diabetics till this horrid so called heart doctor broke in and told all of us by name that we had been friends with the devil and thats why we all had diabetes I was
angered and wrote back and little babies and toddlers get diabetes b because they were wicked too? How do you explain that Doctor? He retorted
that he was putting me and the others on a list he was going to make and curse us and cause us not to get to heaven. the man sounded mad to me and as he was always in my face I just dropped out from it. there was nobody to monitor what anyone wrote. That man was just awful.

I agree with you. When your facebook friends post their status without limiting their target audience, every friend would get to read their comments. Sometimes it could be quite annoying as in why do you need to know what they are doing with their lives, which should be in their own privacy but they are announcing to the whole world. I do not post any unnecessary comments and would limit to a certain number of friends. Besides that, the games in facebook can take up a lot of time if you become addicted, which means you've to play it everyday to keep the score going up, leveling up but in the end you get nothing in return and the fun is very short lived. So I take facebooking as a momentary relaxation and find it detrimental to daily life if I become hooked to it for too long. We would neglect many other aspects of social life just to concentrate on the virtual social life. As human beings, it is still important to meet face to face in person, especially our beloved friends and loved ones.

My youngest son talked me into joining and I finally did, just to keep up with all the news about him and my other son. Unfortunately, all my younger son does, it seems, is play those dumb games which I don't have time to play! My other one, though, posts photos and news and my ex-SIL is there so we can read each others' updates and communicate when we have the time. I like Facebook for communication but that's it.
BTW, don't open any attachments. I'm sure you've heard about the viruses that have been making the rounds of Facebook!

I have been a member of Facebook for a couple of years now. At first I didn't visit it often and only used it to communicate with my granddaughter. Then afew months ago I found some friends from Mylot and started visiting the site more often to interact with them. That soon became a joke because I would interact with them but they rarely returned it. So, I quit that. But, in the interom I found several games and things I like to do on there late in the evening when I am bored and can't sleep. I think during this time the site has become alot more popular and busy and so some nights it is very difficult for me to get to my games or even the applications I can use to get me there. I like Facebook. I don't care much for Myspace but visit it occasionally just to check messages and updates on friends there. I think if we practice patience the site can be very entertaining.

hi bunnybon!
well i guess a lot depends on someone's preference. like me, i have a myspace account but i don't come to enjoy it that much since i also don't have much friends there. hehe
i also don't like facebook before but since i am receiving invites from my friends i'm kinda forced to register. lol! at first i am not really using my FB account aside from playing poker. but i also try playing their games like yo ville, farmville, mafia wars, i think most of it i have tried and got hooked at one time or another, but now? i think my interest on it decline. for what reason i don't know, maybe i just get tired of it doing the same thing everyday!
some games/applications that i receive i just ignore them.
now, i am not active on the site like before but i still visit once in a while to get an update from my friends from school.

when i tried facebook, a year ago, i found it enjoying and got hooked with the games and other applications for months. later on, i found it time consuming, a waste of time. so i got back to mylotting. i now hate facebook too for sending me a lot of invites to games and applications by my friends there. most of them are just facebook friends and do not know them personally. what i hate most now is the latest experience of mine that i have posted a while ago. have you received the notification? if not, here is the link: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2300275.aspx

I first had a myspace for a long time. Didnt hear much from my friends there. I mostly just go there to listen to my playlist. I also play yoville there. Recently i needed to contact a certian friend about something. She didnt answer her email from me. She also didnt answer the message i left her on myspace. Out of desperition i had to join facebook just to send her a message. She answered there. But soon i discovered all my (personal) friends & relatives that were on myspace are now all on facebook. I now go there more than myspace. I do play farmville and cafe world. I like cafe world. It seemed hard at first but iam used to it now.

i didnt know they had that in mylots. But myspace keeps me updated on what my favorite bands are doing and when they are touring through my area. Or i can go to their scape and listen to them there. I was also playing yoville on myspace but im thinking of playing it on facebook instead.

I like facebook.I am quiet new to Facebook,so I cannot feel any addiction to it right now..As a beginner i find it a bit complicated. In fact,I heard many things about this site and most of my old friends have joined fackbook in the recent time and so it is becoming the only way to stay in touch with this friends..I like using some social networking sites, especially the Facebook, to say in touch with the people whom I know personally. But I just follow some norms, just to maintain some ambiguity as other users of this sites may cause trouble,if I disclose all my facts. The sites that I regularly use are Facebook and Orkut and both of this are not paying...
But its really a fun as I can share photos and other information through messages and can also share scraps with the acquaintances. It is very helpful in keeping contact with the people I rarely come across these days.I also play Farmville,it is a silly game, though, and do chatting. It is indeed a great site, but not as great as Mylot..

I really like facebook for the fact that I've been able to reconnect with a lot of the people that I was friends with when I was in high school and college. I also like some of the games that are on there as well. However, unlike many people, I'm not involved in all of the highly addictive games that are on Facebook. In fact, I think I would like the social networking aspect of Facebook a whole lot more if there was more emphasis on networking with your friends and a lot less emphasis on playing the silly games.

I'm not one to spend a whole lot of time on social networking websites. I'm a member of facebook, but I barely check it myself. In fact I tend to check myspace a little more because it has actual e-mail and I usually use it to clear out all my ffn alerts and stuff. But, other than that I barely hang on any one social networking website at any given time.
